The only good thing about Mojo Hotel is the location. The market underneath is nice and there are plenty of food and drink options around.
But the hotel itself is bad. Don’t be fooled by the cheap price. It feels unsafe, and you may end up losing money.
We stayed at Mojo Hotel in Cape Town as a group of four. During our stay, money was stolen from our room.
Two people had cash taken — in total 400 USD. One was from inside a handbag, the other from a suitcase. Even a sunscreen went missing.
What upset us even more was the way it was handled. When we told reception and the manager, they were cold and dismissive. The first thing they asked was why we didn’t use the safe, which honestly felt like they were blaming us.
We know Cape Town has safety issues. But you don’t expect your money to disappear from inside your hotel room.
Very disappointing experience. Be careful.

Was very good location. Great to have all the restaurants and bars below
Rooms was very clean but had some cockroaches in the kitchen

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room and facilities were clean. I appreciate having a mini frig and a hot water pot in the room. The air conditioner was an added bonus. The bed was very comfortable. MANY options close by for food choices at the MOJO Market next door.
At night, there was loud music at the MOJO Market, but fortunately I brought earplugs.

The location is very convenient and close to the sea
- First room was without windows and smelled very strongly of mould. My bad not to read the small print!
I was accommodated to another room, I didn’t mind it was small, but my throat hurt from the chemicals used in the toilet brush holder. The smell was unbearable.
My friend’s room, albeit with sea view, had sewage smell too.
- With an upgrade I was accommodated to a larger space, which was a game changer. However, it was also right in front of a construction site.
- while the larger room / apartment was much cleaner, the others had mould in several places.
- In the evenings you hear the loud noise of the music played at the Mojo Market.
Overall I felt quite uncomfortable since day 1, but they were very strict on the cancellation policy.

Rooms small and back packed like, noisy

We really enjoyed our stay at Mojo Hotel. The location is excellent, right in Sea Point and close to the promenade, restaurants, and shops. The atmosphere is lively and unique, and the hotel has a fun, social vibe.
The rooms were comfortable, though there were a few small maintenance and cleanliness details that could be improved. The fridge had a slight smell and the microwave plate was not working properly. The staff were friendly and helpful, although check-in took a bit longer than expected.

The location was great. The room size and facilities for the price was a bit steep.
My information was leaked, and scammers had all my information. This was reported to the Hotel, however no feedback has been given as yet. It made us feel very uncomfortable. The staff were friendly when approached, but not what i would expect as a guests at their Hotel.

The beds were uncomfortable and the TV was non functional.

The property is located in Sea Point next to the Promenade and plenty of restaurants.
The staff is extremely friendly especially Mivuyo who went the extra mile to get me an adapter.
The property is located right next door to Mojo Market which is a place with lots of food outlets, coffee, juices etc.... Be aware that loud music is playing every nights and groups of young university students are partying every week ends. If you are looking for a quiet hotel THIS IS NOT the place for you. Also if the people staying next to you are a big families you will hear the noise, the walls are not sound proof. FYI

Central Sea Point locaton near beach and shops
Our room was a deluxe sea view. The view was actually from the large roof deck which was accessed by anyone in the hotel and my partner felt a little uncertain about safety, but we had no problems at all

It was central to everything and we loved the size of the room!
Our neighbors were loud and when I call the security to complain he said what must he do.
But when I brought it up with reception staff they were very accommodating

Location, venue, market - unbeatable. Absolutely awesome week of fun, entertainment and good food.
Pathetic Wifi, thus no TV, no laptop (unless hotspot from your own phone or carry own Mifi). Poor shower water - if thats a water saving shower head, its not working because i had to stand under the running water 5 x longer than a normal shower to get wet.

Very noisy as we stayed in room 101 right by the stairs so guests coming up and going down the stairs were very noisy. Our room was facing the main road, very noisy, lots of hooting on the road. Cockroackes in our cutlery draw. Very basic cutlery and crockery.
TV and fridge did not work.
Pillows were uncomfortable. Very hard bed.
Bathroom basins are tiny and when you try and brush your teeth your head hits the shelf above the basin as there is not enough space to fit your head in between the basin and the shelf.

The location was good
Our room wasn't ready at 3 o'clock. We had to ask three times for hand soap and shower soap. There was nothing in the bathroom. The 3rd time we waited at reception and wouldn't leave until they gave us. The shower gel pipe was broken and couldn't pump. And it was very noisy, people shouting and talking loudly in the passages.

We didn't get any breakfast or room service.
I liked the overall location that there are places around that you can find easily to go eat or go out.
Our room was situated next to construction which was loud the morning we woke up. There was no stove not even a portable one. There was no tap to get water from. There was loud banging next door so we canceled it out with music as soon as we played the music louder someone came knocking really hard on the door and the banging suddenly stopped while it was going on for like 2 hours earlier. There was no plates. Breakfast wasn't included. The Market is quite expensive. No extra blankets in room but aircon helped out. Some of the staff members gets moody towards the end of the day some of them are nice. They didn't welcome my friend with open arms practically ignored her a bit. The Staff should work a bit on friendliness. Why do you only give 2 toilet papers per day? Anyway.
You don't want us to break things but the glasses in the bathroom is situated on a thin layer of more glass. What if someone hits it with an elbow while brushing teeth then who's fault is it. Also none of us were disabled but the the beds end kept hitting us isn't that dangerous for a disabled person. For a disability room there should be space for those people to move.

I liked that the place is close to the sea and the views from the roof top are amazing. Loved the food market too!
The staff were not very welcoming except this one lovely fair lady whose name I didn’t get.
The elevator was not working and I feel that should have been mentioned before because that would be something to consider. One of the staff was throwing our luggage about when he helped carry it up stating it was heavy but that’s not our problem that the elevator was not working.
When we arrived, we found out we were booked in a no window room! I had to request changing that, and that was additional money paid, I feel the rooms without windows should also be stated on line so we don’t find out when we are there.
Overall, I feel the rooms are rather too small for my liking too.

Location
The room condition was appalling
Broken bathroom door
Bed sunken and uncomfortable with a huge gap between 2 single beds, a couple cannot sleep across them comfortably.
Noisy neighbours
I relayed this info to the receptionists and they were rude and advised nothing can be done, yet the following morning when advising a different receptionist they advised there were alternative rooms available.

When I checked in they requested for an ID but there was no mention of this when I paid for the room , when we entered the premises they didn’t ask for an extra fee but in the morning they rudely asked for an additional fee without giving a valid reason.
The room smelt like tobacco and they didn’t even give us the password for the Wi-Fi .
Talk about awful customer service
1.0 / 10.0
There was nothing to like, overall negative experience.
Unclean room: Dirty bedding, foul odour, pests (cockroaches), and no toiletries. Lift not working , no staff to assist with luggage.
1:15 AM: Unknown men knocked on our door and demanded we go into a dark parking lot, where we found our car clamped — without notice or staff assistance. It felt unsafe and unprofessional.
5:30 AM: A woman screamed for help repeatedly in an adjacent room. We alerted reception, but there was no intervention or follow-up, leaving us feeling deeply unsafe.
Dismissive staff: When we voiced concerns later, staff gave no apology or resolution.
Misleading listing: The hotel’s photos and descriptions on Booking.com do not reflect its actual condition or environment.

Location is good
The noise is terrible, I knew when I booked that it would be noisy with the market so I was fine with that, but the rooms are not very soundproof as our neighbors where very loud and I could hear their conversations until 01:00 in the morning, it was as if they were standing right next to me, I had to put a movie on and turn the volume up on high, to not hear them!!😳🙈
I was traveling with my parents in their 70’s, me (a woman in my 50’s), it was raining and we had quite some luggage, but no one to help us from the car to the room, I had to fetch the luggage trolley and battle up and down the stairs, I think that it would have been nice for someone to just help us a bit🙁.

Didn’t eat breakfast
Lift not working (2nd weekend in a row)& no signage posted by your staff. Had to ask reception staff x5 for additional pillow. I feel certain members of the staff could do with advanced customer service training.
