Villa Mimosa sleeps 8 with Heated Pool

Property has everything you need for staying here. Lots of space & privacy. Pool was heated throughout our stay which made it great for the kids who couldn’t wait to get in at a morning. Surround sound system throughout the property made it great for listening to music morning until night. Lots of storage for items as well as all utilities like dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine etc. bbq was clean and easy to use. Garden had the sun all day long. Plenty of seating in and out of the sun. Smart tv to keep children entertained whilst indoors

Being VERY critical with this feedback however certain parts of the property could do with a slight upgrade such as painting in the main lounge, upgrade on bed linen & painting wardrobes white would really modernise the rooms. We also had a small cockroach issue during our stay however they were all dead so assuming a treatment had been done and they were all dying off. Driveway is very steep and villa is placed high in the hills and requires a vehicle to go anywhere really but very cheap to get anywhere, we preferred the location as it was quieter and out the busyness of the centre.

Mooie buitenomgeving, tafel met 10 stoelen onder een veranda en buitenzithoek met grote tuin. Het zwembad was de eerste 4 dagen goed verwarmd, de laatste dagen ietsje kouder (wij hadden wel elke dag het afdekzijl in de nacht dicht gedaan), grote keuken. Overal veel ruimte

De villa is een beetje outdated, kan een opknapbeurt gebruiken. Er is een slaapkamer in een klein appartementje naast het huis, deze was wat minder fris en rook niet echt aangenaam, de douche was ook verouderd. De douche in main slaapkamer werkte niet en hier hebben we dan ook geen gebruik van kunnen maken. Verder klopt het uitzicht niet met de foto's zoals getoond op de booking website. Er word een huis gebouwd wat het uitzicht belemmerd. Dit huis is nog steeds niet af en hier hadden we af en toe wat geluidsoverlast van. Wij kregen het idee dat dit huis nog lang niet klaar is.

The villa is in a quiet neighbourhood and high up a hill which therefore gives a lovely outlook. The beds were comfortable, as was all the furniture. The air con unit in the living room was essential to take the chill off the early mornings and evenings, which we were grateful for. The kitchen was supplied with plenty of plates but could do with a few more coffee cups. And there was no tin-opener which provided a challenge! But the cutlery and other utensils were plentiful and of good quality. The areas of Mijas & Fuengirola are lovely and easily accessible by car (which is needed unless you are an avid hiker). There are plenty of local decent-sized supermarkets just a 10-minute drive away, Carrefour being my favourite.

From the beginning, the host was very unresponsive and seeing as that we were only staying for a week, made this very frustrating. He seemed to think I had received an electronic file of information, including the access code to the key-safe and the WiFi password but even though I told him I hadn't received it, still didn't send it to me so we were floundering somewhat to work everything out. After some badgering, we got the password 24hrs later. He had assured me that the pool temperature would be up to swimming in for our stay, despite previous guests stating that it was nowhere near, and again, this was not the case and he didn't seemed bothered or offer any apology even though he knew this was the main reason for selecting this particular villa. He had our money so I guess he didn't care. We asked how to get the electric sauna working as there was no power to it but still haven't had a response 2 weeks later! A lot of the fittings are of a cheap quality and little touches like missing tiles around windows gives it a bit of a shabby feel. The main patio door and a couple of windows didn't lock shut as they should have which made us feel a little vulnerable, especially with two daughters and builders working next door (no disrespect to builders, they would just have been very aware of our comings and goings). The villa description should warn of this fact that another villa is being built immediately in front of this one, although they weren't being especially noisy and didn't begin the heavy stuff until after 8 am. The sea view has been taken away which must be gutting for the owner but is a fact to be mentioned nonetheless. Overall, the villa is nice but don't rely on the pool being usable. This owner has been the least responsive by far of any of the many villas we have stayed in and I would definitely not return or recommend it to anyone.

The property was in a good location and able to access property early

Building site right in front of the place. Builders starting at 8am with machinery. Builders on the roof don’t stop look when in garden trying to sunbath. Lorries blocking driveway when trying to get in and out the property in the car. Ants nest everywhere outside and Evan in one of the bedrooms. The guest house above the garage smells bad and covered in mould. Steam room and sauna is a complete mess not clean at all and don’t Evan work.
