Location, location, location! Right on the harbour. Steps from excellent restaurants, variety of shops, and the all-impt ferry and tour boats. Staff were extremely attentive and friendly.

1) Access was extremely difficult. The lock box failed upon entry and exit. The result was, upon arrival, someone had to come and also struggle w/the lock box. Eventually he opened it. Upon departure, the lock box failed again and we had to wait 1.5+ hrs to meet someone to hand in the key. Buy a new lock box, please. 2) We were lucky to be offered paid parking nearby; however, the instructions were confusing. In time, we managed but, this too, needs to be simplified to enhance the overall accommodation experience.

Exceptional room in the heart of Porto Venere

Everything about our room was absolutely exceptional! Perfect view of the harbor, wonderful patio, and probably the best location in Portovenere. Ali even set up a surprise for my fiancé and I before our arrival-the team covered the room in rose petals and gave us a lovely charcuterie board and Prosecco since we got engaged the week before. After staying in a few apartments, the daily room cleaning was also much appreciated. Thank you for everything! We will be back.

This apartment has the most wonderful balcony overlooking the sea with a beautiful view of Portovenere. Very cute place but very modern and comfortable.

Be warned that you will need to carry your bags down two steep flights of stairs. If you survive that, you will be well rewarded! :-)))

This was a lovely apartment with a view of the harbor just across the street. It is a great location for walking all around the historic area. The place you get on the ferry to go to Cinque Terre is just a few minutes . We were really glad we chose La Calata!

We loved our stay in Portovenere, and largely due to Marco's hospitality :)

Marco, who met us when we arrived, was extremely helpful, friendly, and even assisted with carrying our many bags down the stairs to our room.

It just would have been helpful; to have been informed about the man stairs required to reach our room. Otherwise, our stay was great!

Amazing location at an affordable price

Marco was there when we arrived and was very friendly and helpful. He even helped us call to make dinner reservations and we had a great meal thanks to him. The room is spacious and inviting and the view from the balcony can’t be beat.

I would just say that a shower rack in the bathroom would have been nice to not have to put your shampoos etc. on the floor, but it’s obviously a very minor detail. The place in general is very well equipped.

Great standard of accommodation but the location was fantastic and a massive bonus

We were blown away by both the room itself and it's location - right on the harbour side in Porto Venere - small balcony out front with small table and chairs over looking the the harbour and its array of super yachts coming and going. The host Emanuele was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for him. He also runs a booking office for trips and excursions should you want to book anything. He is also very knowledgeable (and passionate) about the area and its history and gave us great information on it when asked. We ate at a couple of the places he recommended and these were superb too. spent the last 3 nights of a10 day tour here and we chilled out to the max and felt fully rejuvenated after 7 days touring. Room furnished and finished to a high standard and also had daily cleaning service which I wasn't expecting

Absolutely amazing accommodation. Dont hesitate to book if available. The rooms are so beautiful, very big and full of light. They are in one of the multicoloured buildings you see on all the postcards and so have a view directly out to the sea. Large and great bathroom / shower room. Massive bed.. Amazing AC and bars, shops and restaurants on the same street. I loved sitting on the entrance steps and watching all the local shop owners chatting. It really was a heavenly stay and Marco the owner was lovely and always a mobile call away (I managed to smash two of his lovely wine glasses!) I slept with the windows open so i could go to sleep with the sound of the waves. No mosquitos here to worry about. Opposite the front door is an amazing foccacia and pattiserie bakery to get your breakfast for a couple of euros. I much preferred Portovenere to the 5 Terres villages so would suggest to everyone basing yourself here and just taking the hourly boats to the 5 Terres.

The location of the apartment was very good, bakery and cafeteria were next to it. There was also flexibility regarding the check-in time. The room was clean and had a new bathroom.

It would be helpful if there was a hair dryer.
