Brilliant guest house run by lovely people

Clean and spacious rooms with all the facilities you would expect. Great location close to the centre of Newquay. Large and tasty cooked breakfast at a very reasonable price. Above all run by really nice people who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Thanks so much.

Value for money, breakfast and location was amazing!

The location was superb. The owners were very friendly and kind. The rooms were comfortable. The cooked breakfast was by far the nicest breakfast I have had in years. The price, quality and size of it was amazing.

Great location and comfortable room. Home from home!

This is an amazing place to stay whilst visiting Newquay. The location is central so well connected to transport/ shops/ food options and the room had everything you`d need for a comfortable stay. Beautifully decorated to a high standard with an immaculate shower, hot drinks, easy to use TV and comfy bed. Storage , shelves and hooks all in the right places so easy to organise my travel stuff. I felt at home!

A hidden gem

Great location in a quiet street within easy walking distance to town centre and beaches. John the properties host very friendly and welcoming. Everything clean in the room and bathroom. Would recommend and have no hesitation in booking again on a future visit to Newquay.

Nicest place I have stayed this year

Though the location was ideal, halfway between the bus and train station and close to the shops and beach but still out of the way enough to be peaceful , the B&B owners were nice friendly people who took an interest in the OCR I was running down there, the tea and coffee making facilities were plentiful and the bed was really comfortable with good quality pillows, overall I would say that this was the nicest place I have stayed at all 21 OCR events I have attended so far this year

Hi, if you found availability in this property know you are blessed. From the very beginning, both hosts Ellen and John received me warmly and were committed to serve with genuine care. From the clean and well equipped room, to the Michelin star breakfast by John and the recommendations (with actual maps) to wonder around their lovely city coasts. As a female solo traveler, I look forward to returning!

A wonderful stay

Very nice people. The location is really great, close to shops and the beach. A very nice and friendly atmosphere. We'll definitely be back. This is exactly the kind of place we were looking for, and now we have it. We'll choose this Smugglers Rest again every time we come back.

Good and dog friendly b&b style place

Very friendly family who is running this B&B style accommodation. John was always there and always happy to help. The breakfast was really good and very cheap. It was also extremely nice how they catered for vegan requirements. The house is also pretty quiet. Super dog friendly place as well.

While being a very nice size, the mattress was probably old and a bit uncomfortable. There was not enough water pressure in the shower.

The place was lovely—clean, cozy, and very comfortable. The location was great, close to everything I needed and easy to get around. It had everything I could ask for, and the overall vibe made me feel right at home. Highly recommend!

Breakfast was exceptional, freshly made by John, very tasty, good quality produce. Excellent value also. Family run Guesthouse, and made to feel at home straight away. Two lovely friendly dogs as well. We will stop again in the future.

I arrived early because of the train times they let me check in right away the room was wonderful and John went through the house rules with me also leaving my train was early but he made breakfast for me a finer host than John you will not meet !

Lovely staff, shame about the rest.

The staff were lovely and welcoming and very helpful.

Great location and friendly staff. (Even provided sausages for our dog!). Good WiFi. Mini fridge in bedroom and refreshments provided.

Room was small, (found it over crowded as 2 people & a dog), Shower was very small. Bed was very springy. Walls are very thin - you can hear a lot of noise.

Really nice friendly hosts, very helpful with the parking and sorting out my wetsuit/surfboard. Location is great 5 minutes walk to pretty much anywhere in Newquay Town. John made me some sausage and bacon sandwiches to take with me as I don't usually eat much breakfast. Really nice and much appreciated.
