The person who I rang to get the code was a bit standoff ish. I appreciate they have alot of noisy groups but and have to inform you of the rules, but it could have been communicated in a friendlier manner.

The location was good. I wasn’t aware we could have breakfast. I found being at the top of the house with no visable fire escape a fire hazard.

Best hostel in Newquay

The owner Tom was very thoughtful, rang us before we arrived to make sure we knew how to check in. The room was cleaned to a high standard, the shared bathroom is cleaned daily from what I can tell. We ran into the cleaner who was very lovely and offered to change our bin for us. I thought a hostel would be very noisy but we were on the top floor and pretty much couldn't hear anyone else apart from the showers being run in the neighbouring rooms. The bed was extremely comfortable and the TV was a nice surprise. I was skeptical of a shared bathroom but it was no different to a bathroom at home it was very close to the room and we only had to wait once for someone else to finish using it, pretty much private. The location is perfect.

Parking can be a nightmare. The street outside is 9-5 2 hours no return for 4 hours, so we did have to come back just to move the car around. The kettle was slightly dirty but not a major issue. Stairs could be tricky for older guests but we didn't find them bad at all.
