Tolcarne Beach Colonial Restaurant and Rooms

Beautiful hotel. Every little detail was thought of. We had a.stereo record player /radio/cd player in our room. Lovely touch Bathroom facilities were lovely. Bed was so comfortable Staff were friendly and helpful

Beautiful room, I am quite well travelled and this was the best room I have ever stayed in by far. Lovely breakfast and drinks, I was able to create my own breakfast a few mornings too using items from the menu. Right on the beach with a gorgeous view. Tea tray was a good standard, lush body wash provided. Towels were lovely and soft. Nice to sit in the bar area and read newspapers or play some of the games provided.

Stairs and ramp up/down to the property can be a bit tedious sometimes. Sunday night the restaurant was very busy. It was nice to see the place bustling and it sounded like everyone was having a great time. Sadly, because of the fuss I was unable to get my cream scone. I am being very picky when I mention this to high I acknowledge myself!

We were lucky enough to stay at Tolcarne Beach when the weather was hot, perfect for a beach break. Our beach house, right on the lovely Tolcarne Beach, was ideal in this situation and very comfortable and well appointed. The staff at the resort were uniformly lovely and the restaurant, which we used for breakfast and dinner, was very good. We really enjoyed our couple of days there but I'm not sure it would be quite so nice in typical English weather.

It was not obvious how to drive to the resort. Google Maps suggested we go down the stairs to the beach... In fact there is car parking next to the accommodation, both at beach level and partway down, but the entrance to the road going down is really not obvious and the road itself was fine with a small car but I would not have liked to attempt it with anything bigger. We did not find Newquay itself particularly attractive when we ventured up the stairs into town, so would probably not want to stay for much longer than a couple of days, unless the great beaches are the main attraction.
