Fabulous

The fabulous customer service started before we arrived, with helpful information and excellent communication from the go. Check-in was welcoming and fast. Cabin was perfection and the location priceless. We asked for soya milk and there was an entire carton in the mini fridge which in my opinion is going above and beyond. I highly recommend staying here and hope to come back myself.

There is a steep hill to climb so mobility is a necessity. The accommodations are so nice it hardly matters once you’re there but some form of transport up and down the hill would make it more accessible.

Cabins on the beach

The location was perfect, if you want to camp on the beach this is the perfect setting. As it is a private beach, there is no noise at night except the waves. Weather is not an issue, we had both real sunny and rain, the cabins are nice and cosy when it is rainy. The restaurant is really very good. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff very attentive. Food is good - both breakfast as well as evening dinner. Also a good place for doing local trips.

Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful location, a very special place

Huge thanks to everyone for making my solo stay so special. From the reception desk, to the restaurant, to the guests - everyone was friendly and helpful. I prefer travelling on my own but sometimes I get lonely. I can go hours on end without hearing another voice and the staff at Tolcarne Beach engaged with me. They answered my questions patiently and made sure I didn't feel alone. They did this all with a smile. To top it all off, the food is great and the cocktails are delicious! The beach is gorgeous and the accommodation too. It's in the details - the nautical decorations, the artwork, blankets for your comfort, chairs and a table outside the cabin for your reading materials or an ice cold beverage. Lovely. I cannot wait to return.

A beautiful place right on the beach. Very friendly staff and great food.

I liked that the cabin was directly on the beach and had its on sun loungers and a table and chairs outside.

Only downside is getting to the property. Down a very narrow steep road,or walking down a lot of very steep steps.

The included breakfast was absolutely phenomenal. Clean rooms with everything you could need including beach towel, comfy bed, well designed, LOCATION!!!!!!!! Tolcarne beach is stunning and having the waves on your doorstep is truly a treat. The staff were all congenial and fantastic. We had the best time.

Fun experience on the beach

Beach location and staying in a cabin was fun. Stinjing views. It was helpful to have a snack bar for ice cream eTc in the day. Good breakfast and lovely view from restaurant deck area, lovely staff. Car park was essential in the summer as it’s packed everywhere, so good we could use it.

The 146 steps! Amazed at how busy the beach got despite having to come down by and up cliff. The actual resort location is great but as soon as you go up the cliff to the main road, you are at the less pleasing end of the town so need to walk to get into nicer shops and restaurants. We were unable to do a two person ‘walk in’ at the Colonade restaurant for dinner as kitchen staff were busy with a group of 14 despite restaurant being relatively empty, so was disappointed. So book if you want dinner in peak season.

Excellent getaway for couples

The missus always had a drink in her hand which made her happy. I liked being so close to the beach and the cabin was comfortable and cosy. Very romantic. The on-site restaurant was open later than most places in town and had great food and drink.

Instructions on how to access parking (and better signage) would have been useful. I did email about parking in advance, and the response wasn't particularly helpful. I ended up paying for a third party car park for the first night as a consequence.

Perfect break away for couples

Location was right on the beach so perfect. Breakfast was superb as was the restaurant setting and decor. Staff were super helpful and friendly. We had the most amazing time

the 137 steps out onto the road were a bit of a challenge! But that's only because I'm lazy! It certainly made you think twice before going out!

We have stayed before, and it is a fantastic place to stay. The views are amazing, as you are right on the beach. The food and drink, the staff, all really top notch :)

It does say -no dogs in the beach, at the time of year we visited, and even though we like dogs, there were a few instances where dogs were barking, and none of the beach staff said anything to the dog owners. Also kids were playing games, from a school, and were there til 10pm on a school night, and Just thought it was a bit late considering it’s a private beach with luxury cabins on. There are loads of beaches they could use. The ocean does drown out a lot of noise, so it wasn’t too bad, and the children looked like they were having a great time, and it is nice to see children outdoors!

Lovely relaxing stay in a stunning location.

The location was amazing we couldn’t have asked for more. We loved our beach cabin and being right on the beach itself. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean was the best. The cabin had everything we needed and was comfortable.

Nothing the only thing to note is the food can be little expensive but we enjoyed all our meals at the restaurant. Also it would be nice to have the option to get your cabin cleaned during the stay however this wasn’t a huge issue.

Fun and cosy stay as close to the sea as you can get!

It was very cute and cosy, and you literally couldn’t get any closer to the sea - the cabins are right on the beach.

The only downside is that it was very small. Fine for a short weekend stay but we’d probably prefer something a bit bigger if we were there for longer.

Amazing ! Take us back !!

All the staff were amazing and welcoming from the moment we got there. We ate in the restaurant the first night and the food was delicious and so worth it! you get a lot for your money and we wished we could have eaten more !! we stayed in a cabin which was literally on the beach and it was beautiful. we wanted to stay longer :( We had breakfast included even though we weren’t aware of this and you had so much to choose from and this too was so yummy!! we will definitely be back… hopefully soon!!

Incredible stay but a few slight issues

The location was exceptional. Staff were amazingly kind and breakfast was delicious!! We will be back!!

I do not want to tarnish this place because it really is exceptional but it is important to point out some small issues. Parts of the cabin were dirty. We wiped some water off of the floor with a spare towel and it turned it black and the walls had dust on them where they haven't been wiped. Cutlery in the picnic basket also had dried food on. The cabin would have benefitted from an outside tap to wash off any sand to reduce the amount brought into the cabin. Parking could be clearer, as although the booking states no parking, this is in fact just no guaranteed parking. Other more expensive rooms seem to get parking with the room but if these are not full then you can use the parking available. This should be communicated to give guests clarity 🙂
