Still a decent option if you don't mind handling a few housekeeping quirks yourself.

The hotel has a relaxing vibe: spacious rooms, comfortable furniture, soft lighting — it's easy to unwind here. Quiet corridors and soundproof walls make for a good night's sleep.

The downside is the cleaning. On the second day, the trash bin hadn't been emptied, dusty clumps were under the table, and towels were only replaced after we asked. For the price, I expected better attention to detail.

Overall — a good option for a short stay if you don’t mind the noise.

Clean, bright, and cozy room. Comfortable bed — slept great. Café and shop nearby, everything within reach. Friendly staff — helped with luggage and allowed late checkout.

Poor sound insulation — can clearly hear neighbours, especially in the evenings and at night. Hard to relax or get a good night’s sleep.

I felt unsafe and it was unfriendly and uncomfortable

It was in a central location to Newquay and the beaches

I was moved to a property I hadn’t booked without explanation, not given sufficient instructions on how to check in (there were no staff and the phone numbers I was given weren’t working). I felt unsafe, no lock on the room door, massive gap under the door, shady characters. The room looked clean to begin with but the duvet had literal mould on it and the bed topper had stains on it and the throw cushions had not been cleaned recently. There was no bedside lamp so I had to sleep with the main lights on as I felt unsafe in the complete dark.

The hotel left a pleasant impression: everything was neat, calm, and unpretentious. The room was well cleaned, the bed comfortable, and the shower had steady warm water. The staff was polite and unobtrusive.

The kettle was full of limescale, and the mini-fridge had a stale smell, as if it hadn’t been clean ed in a while.

Outstanding Hotel

The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming on arrival and the standard of the room we stayed in was excellent. The shower and toilet facilities were great and the beds, very comfortable. The large television, with free view built in was fantastic anad the overall experience was very enjoyable.

Dreadful

The room was clean.

The property was not what I expected. We booked a family room but it was too small. No where to put things, a rail was above the same alcove that the kettle lives in, is that even safe to have clothes hung so near to steam/water and electrical extension lead. Extension lead as hardly any plug sockets! 1 tiny little bedside table between 3 people. The room was on the top floor up numerous flights of steps and this was a struggle for my elderly mum, my son also had a disability. The shower was so small you couldn’t bend down and the shower door did not close. When I rang the reception to tell them we were checking out early he wasn’t interested and ended the call before I had chance to explain. The room was advertised with breakfast available but they do not provide breakfast. This is misleading. All in all unsuitable and not accessible for elderly or disabilities. The Lodge should make it clear that the accommodation may not be suitable.

The staff make this place such a gem, this was our second visit and can’t wait to make a third! Always go out of their way to help however possible and always a friendly welcoming face when coming in ❤️

Would recommend for location, decent hotel

I loved the location of the property it was close to everything it was fantastic, room was cool as well with 3 beds in the air.

The cleanliness, the food area was full of crumbs, sticky floor. Stains on half of the towels we were given. Sticky stains inside of the drawers. We also were given a room key that was for a room someone else was staying in (quickly resolved by a member of staff but miscommunication could of been avoided)

Good location and clean .

Had double room with bunk bed , bed was not attached to anything it was on stilts , it moved a lot and was not safe . Reported to reception they report to manager who told me they can check it is safe, it was not , told me could remove bunk bed and daughter had to sleep with me not acceptable practical or right she is a teenager ! my daughter is a teenager , to be told school kids had stayed In The bed the night before and the teacher thought it was ok . 1. Teacher is not the child’s parent , good job no accidents occurred 2. It was not attached to anything was on stilts 3 the rudeness of manager when asked for room to be changed or refund , declined and was fully booked . Come away for weekend with daughter could not sleep with her sharing the bed with me , other people staying must have been disturbed by other people staying on that floor banging the doors cause lost keys inside and out , very loud early hours of morning for over 2 hours , had no sleep ,scared daughter no manager present or staff to deal with the situation witch ruined are stay and what we had planned .will not recommend this place to no one .

Not their fault but booking.coms fault as when we booked the room it was a different room we stayed in. It had a single bed but was a bunk bed and with mobility issues, no way was I getting up there LOL

I stayed at this hotel during a business trip. Overall, everything went well: the room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The staff was polite, the reception was open 24 hours, which is very convenient.

Minors are minor: Wi-Fi sometimes disappeared, and cleaning was not done every day, as I am used to. But these are minor things.

We were satisfied with the hotel. The room was clean and cozy, with a comfortable bed and good Wi-Fi. Check-in was fast, and the staff was friendly. All the essentials for a comfortable stay were provided.

There were no extra towels in the room — only two sets were available, and they weren’t replaced daily during cleaning. We had to ask for additional ones.

In the heart of things, friendly staff, good value

Very well located in the middle of Newquay. Communication was very good - responsive and the staff were very accommodating and helpful. Bed v. comfy. Wifi good.

Parking - is a bit of a nightmare and the walls are thin - there were a number of small kids in the rooms next door to me so a bit noisy.

Cheap with great amenities!

We got a free upgrade, the room was very clean & the facilities in the room were amazing too! And the staff were also very friendly at reception.

The 1 and only downfall was that we were right next to the front door and there is a ring door bell that kept us awake a big chunk of the night, as people were strolling in early hours and forgot the code to the door. If it wasn’t for the door bell it would have been 10/10 for everything!

Ok but wont stay again

The single beds were like a 2ft 6 -like a caravan, bunk beds seen to be single size, you couldn't swing a cat in the room, so not ideal for 4 adults, maybe ok for 2 adukts and 2 small children? But only if they changed the bed size, on suite was tiny but usable, could only watch tv from 2 single beds- no sky / Netflix etc. Old style tv, didn't use table seating area, but it looked clean and tidy. No parking at all near hotel. Be prepared to walkabout 10 mins with your bag or case.
