Horrible!

I would strongly advise avoiding this hotel. My experience was appalling. On my second night, there was a large party or function being held downstairs, and the noise in my room was unbearable — constant bass and loud music that made it impossible to relax or sleep. When I asked about the noise, I was told several different finishing times: first 10 pm, then 11 pm, and finally midnight. The music didn’t stop until after 12:30 am. At that point, I decided to leave the hotel altogether and had to find another place to stay after midnight. When I went downstairs to raise my concerns, I was met with verbal abuse from members of staff — including the manager, who was clearly intoxicated. The situation escalated further when staff began swearing at me. I have video evidence of this incident, including footage of the manager being aggressive and confrontational. Even guests from the party who didn’t know me confirmed that the manager was drunk and behaving unprofessionally. Despite everything that happened, the hotel has refused to refund me for the night I didn’t stay. The entire experience was shocking, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable.

Terrible !

Noting after the way I was treated

After leaving my first review, I need to add more about what happened. As I was leaving to go to another hotel around midnight, I spoke briefly with a staff member who had just started their shift — one of the few sober and professional people there. While I was calmly leaving, the manager, who was clearly intoxicated, came outside rolling a cigarette and began shouting abuse at me. The whole situation was disgraceful. I have photos and videos that show exactly what happened, and yet the hotel is now completely ignoring me — not answering calls or offering any refund for the night I didn’t stay. Truly unacceptable behaviour from both management and staff.

A lovely hotel to stay in with very friendly staff and at a good price.

The room was a good size. It was easy to control the temperature. The breakfast was nice.

Not that you can change this, the view wasn't great as the room was at the rear, plus in the main room the windows were narrow and high level.

TV would not turn off....solution offered was to change room! Single rooms compact (small!!), and although there are some drawers, a shelf or two in the wardrobe might be helpful.

My single room was a little small and my only criticism is the room above was not sound proofed and the floor boards were noisy every time he moved it was like he was in my room. Overall good.

Convenient location near SWCPath, beach, shops and restaurants.

Basic room but had all I required, good to find a relatively inexpensive room in Newquay

No breakfast available. There is a community kitchen but as people keep nicking things from it there was no enough cutlery etc. I didn't use it so can't vouch for the appliances, but there is a cooker, microwave and washing machine. Plenty of places to get breakfast in Newquay though.

Ideal location for a weekend away in Newquay. All 4 x single rooms had everything we needed.

Easy hotel to find and location was ideal for us as it wasn't too far to walk into town. Receptionist was great and very helpful regarding places to drink / eat etc.

Not the fault of the hotel but a staff shortage meant that the bar couldn't be opened on our second night. The bathroom in my room was a bit tired to say the least.

Hit and miss stay but in prime location

The family room was spacious, there was a seperate area for the kids with bunk beds and we had a large bath, only 5 mins walk to the beach, parking included, friendly staff

Visible signs of wear and tear, desperate need for maintenance to be carried out, rooms were too warm, windows were incredibly dirty including the outdoor areas that the rooms overlooked, the family room did not have a shower or a fridge, although there was a communal fridge available to use which was helpful, my mum had to change rooms as it was stuffy without ventilation, the lovely lady at reception changed her room to a better one, unfortunately one of our other rooms had a leaky shower and was also too stuffy with dirty windows. For the price we had expected much better quality

The room was too crammed with a very small bathroom couldn’t rlly enjoy taking showers there and the window was too small not allowing enough air to get in especially since it’s summer and people may suffer from asthma like me. The corridor floors made too much creaking sounds as people walk by making it more difficult to sleep or enjoy some peace and quiet. The room was simply ridiculous ,wouldn’t hurt to fix a few things about the rooms such as making a wider bathroom and new flooring at least.

Horrendous

Perfect location, right opposite the beach and round the corner from Tesco which was great for the 'wet wipe wash' as the water from the shower and taps apparently weren't included in the cost of the room.

Terrible customer service, the receptionist upon check in stayed sat in the office shouting out to me at the front desk. The same lady I reported to about the cold tap on the sink not working and couldn't have cared less that we only had hot scolding water to wash my 2 year old with. Then upon arrival back to our room later that evening the patio door was found to be wide open, thankfully nothing missing, only to be told that it may have been the cleaner. Why the cleaner decided to enter my room 5 hours after they had already cleaned it is beyond me But because I paid £92 for the room it must all be okay!

Good location.

The door didn’t lock properly so we didn’t feel at all secure. Even for a 3 star this is a must!! There were various holes in walls and ceilings. The walls were also very thin so we could hear everything everywhere. It did have a comfortable bed though.

The TV was not working and l asked the receptionist to look at it. It seemed that a previous guest may have removed the cable and remote. Not the hotel’s fault and it was a Sunday when l checked in. No chair at all. Bathroom ok but needs updating.

This is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Very noisy in the night windows and walls are like paper. Squeaking floors and stairs you can hear people walking around. Alarms going off in the night. Room started leaking water through the ceiling looking like it was going to fall through. Hotel was constantly boiling hot inside and no air con. Shower hardly worked just drips out. I don’t know how this hotel is still open as the building is falling apart. Would not stay here again even for free.

Location of accomodation was close to what we needed.

We were allocated room 224 Parking was limited, but we could use a side street Lighting didnt work - lamps or bulbs didnt work Bathroom extractor fan didnt switch off Shower was poor the feeding pipe was kinked had to manually hold it to obtian pressure No fans Room was far to hot Seagulls tapping on the window not sure why Insufficent coffee sachets but plenty of milk

The location was good. Not far to walk to fistral Beach.

The room was ridiculously hot! No air-conditioning. Asked at the front desk for a fan, which they didn't have, and the shower had no pressure at all and only ran cold water. Paid for a two night stay and only stayed one night as the room was so uncomfortably hot we couldn't bear another night in there. Would not recommend staying here during the warmer months unless you like sleeping in an oven and having cold showers.

Good for a night

I stayed at this hotel recently after a long 27-hour journey, and I must say the staff were absolutely fantastic. They welcomed me warmly and even managed to get me into my room a little early, which I really appreciated. Their helpfulness was a highlight of my stay and made a great first impression. The location is also very convenient – close to everything I needed, which made getting around easy. However, I do feel the rooms are in need of some TLC, especially considering the price (£70+ per night). My room felt a bit rough around the edges: there were bits of wood holding the bathroom door runners together, and the space was very small – as someone who's 6ft tall, I struggled to move around comfortably in the bathroom. Even opening the curtains to enjoy the view was awkward, and I noticed a mug just sitting on the roof outside, which didn’t exactly add to the experience. Overall, while the staff were brilliant and the location is good, the condition of the rooms doesn’t quite justify the price. With some updates and attention to detail, this place could be great – but right now, it feels a bit overpriced for what

Poor parking facilities. Multiple cars parked out front in a manner that took up two spaces. Staff should enforce better parking so more customers can park on site. I had to park off site on a street. Arrived as a late check in, waited at front desk for 15-20min for a staff member who was on a maintenance walk.Wifi password did not work. Tried multiple variations of what was shown on the Guest info laminated print out. It stated password was: No Password* Attempted with/without space, lowercase, uppercase. Called reception no answer. Text the number given for the night porter. No response to date. £77 for a single bed small room with stained carpets and a matress that died decades ago was very steep.

We stayed 4,nights not even our bedding was changed considering how the weather was .when requested for change of the bed the response we got was we do not change beds , we requested for sheet to change on our own the house keeping staff did not give us later on we told the receptionist they gave us the sheet. Breakfast First night we missed it The other day we stayed no breakfast was served we were told it was cancelled we ended up not having any breakfast the whole time we stayed there .

Couldn’t open windows due to the amount of pigeons and pigeon faeces immediately outside the room. Room was therefore very warm. Asked reception for a fan. None available. No bin in the room. Stain mark on the ceiling. Shower pressure very weak so hard to wash shampoo out of hair. Told we had to check out by 10am which seemed very early. Not a good night’s sleep as woken up by the very noisy pigeons outside (single glazing).

Single room with ensuite suited my needs. Staff were very friendly and accommodating with requests made. Kitchen was available for guest use.
