Will definitely be back again

The lodge was in a lovely location, it was very close to metro and a bus stop. Really easy to get to after you come off the motorway and its right next to castle coch. Lisa is such a welcoming host, the kitchen was fully stocked when we arrived with breakfast items and tea and coffee. Lisa was also next door which was really convenient if we needed anything.

It was so warm and cosy, a home away from home, Lisa the host is a wonderful lady, very kind, cheerful, easy to communicate with. I travelled with my little boys and they loved it. Loved the location too, nice and quiet.

A gem of a find, a right home from home.

Lovely self contained property which allowed our dog to come with us. Nicely stocked fridge, snacks and bread. The host Lisa was very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. A great find we shall return.

Lovely property, well situated and owner very welcoming & friendly.

We were aware of breakfast being provided & boy was it. Superb range of cereal, bread, pastries, milk & butter. Lots of fresh fruit as well ;greatly appreciated. Also ideal for our two golden retrievers

These are only pointers: the doors between the bedroom and kitchen to bathroom could have been painted. The door from the bedroom we could not close. A blind in the kitchen and a shelf above the sink would have been of assistance

A gem of a stay

Lisa was a lovely host and we had a very pleasant stay. The bed was super comfy and it had everything we needed for our stay. We even had the sofa bed set up for us upon arrival! Would stay again for sure.

The presentation was amazing. Lisa went above and beyond with her helpfulness and provision of breakfast choice. There were even flowers on the table! Great location, easy to find and off road parking.

Super lovely accommodation with very friendly host!

The location is great, only 10-15 minutes on the train into Cardiff central. Lisa was so friendly & we felt very comfortable there. She gave us a great tip for getting to the gig we were there for quicker. It was lovely to have milk in the fridge to make a cuppa in the morning as well!

Perfect last minute stay

What an amazing stay, Lisa the host is lovely, super friendly, couldn't do enough for us. Really good communication leading up to stay, when we arrived lots of little personal touches, location was great, ten mins walk to train into Cardiff. Bed was extremely comfortable

Nice place to spend the night if visiting Cardiff.

Lisa, the owner, was very accommodating to our changes in arrival time. She runs a B&B next door, as it were, so she is often available. She was extremely nice and helpful. The accommodation is within the grounds of the house that works as a B&B and this is a beautiful historical building where Roal Dahl spent part of his childhood. Because the property has a reasonably large front yard, we could park inside, just in front of the cabin. Lisa left milk, cereals and croissants etc for us to fix our own breakfast, which was very convenient; you can also ask her to prepare something more substantial for a reasonable fee.

The accommodation is a cabin, so everything is quite small. This is not a problem in itself and the space is well designed to make the best use of it. However, the bed is just in front of the entrance wall, which is made of glass. So between you sleeping and the world there is just two glass panels and one roller blind. Not a massive issue, but when we arrived we were a bit surprised. On the other hand, nobody passes by around the cabin, as it is inside the B&B property.

Excellent!

We stayed in the self contained lodge and it was perfect. Our own front door, bedroom, lounge, bathroom and kitchen. Lots of supplies provided. Good parking. Super friendly host. The best location for us as family live close by but also close to Radyr station to get into the centre of Cardiff on TFW which is very easy and cheap.

Host Lisa was very welcoming, and the facilities were excellent. A very well-stocked fridge was left with breakfast supplies, including gluten-free. (on request) The option to have a cooked breakfast was available for an additional charge.

There was no window to open in the bedroom as it had double patio-style doors. A blind in the kitchen would have been ideal, as although it is not overlooked, you walk through it from the bathroom.

Brilliant and so comfortable

The host Lisa was fantastic , from the communication at booking to checking in & beyond. Nothing was too much trouble The property was fantastic , very clean and comfortable with everything you need to hand. The fridge was stocked and fruit bowl full. The location was great , 10 min walk to train station direct into the centre or places to eat locally. I can’t recommend this place enough .

Location and size of the property was perfect for our needs. Owner made up sofa bed for our son & was informative of area including public transport etc.

Was informed breakfast included but was only fridge items, cooked breakfast had to pay £9.50 extra each if wanted! No electric frying pan as stated in welcome back. Cupboard drawers not fitted properly. Seal hanging off shower cubicle. Bathroom door stuck when closed as kitchen flooring raised. Glue on kitchen flooring where lino looked as though just stuck down. Cupboard doors sticky when opened. Flooring in living room area patchy. Fire exit blocked outside by rubbish & gate locked.

Fabulous self-contained mini lodge and perfectly placed to explore nearby forests or Cardiff city.

Everything we needed for a two-night stay in Cardiff. Leafy Radyr is only ten minutes from the train station and an easy journey into town/the Bay if you prefer to leave your car. An artisan bakery, shop, Italian restaurant and pub within walking distance. Lisa is lovely and helpful, beds comfortable and continental breakfast galore in the kitchenette.

Husband says he heard the traffic at night. We all slept like logs!
