We were so dankbaar to have found cottage DANKBAAR for our girls weekend away.

Dankbaar is a charming cottage part of the Die Kom estate. We spend our time sitting outside on the stoep with our morning coffee and afternoon sundowners. The cottage is beautifully decorated and offer facilities of a high standard. It is centrally located and easy to get to all the little shops and restaurants. The cottage is on the beach where the fishermen launch their boats, so we really experienced the charm of this working fishing village. We were ladies travelling on our own, we never felt unsafe. Cottage has security shutters, beams and alarm. Security guards were patrolling the estate. We were privileged to meet the owners of Dankbaar, what a lovely couple and their dog. Cant wait for our next visit, this time with the husbands.

NOTHING. The Fishermen activities at night, might be off putting for some, but we enjoyed watching them launch their boats and coming back in the dark.

Beautifully furnished place in the heart of Paternoster. Attention to detail in all the amenities available and provided. Very clean and comfortable including the beds and bathrooms. The patio was great overlooking the beach and a great spot to take in the sunsets. Great location within easy walking distance to many restaurants and the grocery store. Really felt like a home away from home.

Amazing property in a great location with a gorgeous view

Amazing property in a great location with a gorgeous view. We've stayed in Paternoster a lot over the last 20 years and this is now our favourite accommodation in Paternoster. We especially liked that we still had power for lights/tv/wifi during loadshedding and that the patio/stoep is secure so that even when it's busy someone can't walk onto your patio/stoep 'by mistake'. Everything is perfect, the outside bbq/braai, the furniture, the beds, the showers and bath, etc. too many to mention. Will definitely return.

Perfect stay at a perfect venue, will definately be back for more

Property perfectly located on the beachfront with l unrestrictedly views, beautifully decorated, very well-equipped kitchen, BBQ facilities were outstanding, everything you needed available to make your stay more memorable. Fishing boats launching on good weather conditions from the beach allowing you access to fresh fish and crayfish at reasonable prices.

The public beachfront allows unrestricted access to all, security and use of alcohol in public are not properly enforced and litter on the beach (empty and broken glass bottles) is having a huge impact to the environment, also the tourist industry.

We loved all of the following: that the tv was on when we arrived - so it works; that the place was so beautifully furnished; that the place was so clean, that there were explicit security/alarm instructions; that there were so many security features - made us feel safe; that the water was piping hot; that there was an inverter - fantastic!!!! We honestly wanted for absolutely nothing. It was a wonderful place to get to know Paternoster from.

Could have been less noise

No Breakfast.It is in my opinion that this is more a townhouse than a house.It has adjoining structures on either side, which is especially annoying as the townhouse next to Dankbaar is perhaps only 5 feet away ,and you can clearly hear your neighbours.Also much dog barking at night. The unit is very well equipped with very nice furnishings.Good ocean view

Great location and beautiful

marvelous beach front cottage. well equipped although over-decorated. There is things everywhere and hard to find a place to put your own things. Even on the sofa there was a paddle, exactly like on the photos but we thought that was for photos only. So you can’t sit on the sofa because besides the paddle there are fur blankets and cushions. The first night the owner even phoned us to check if everything was fine and to say we could contact her if we needed anything. The cottage is a few minutes walking from Gaaitjie en See Kat restaurant. Perfect location.

The booking agency where we had to collect the keys from took R1000 breakage deposit and after checking out they said it could take up to 5 working days for a refund. After messaging 2x and treathening to phone Booking.com the money was in my account immediately
