The Braai grid was not clean. Should have tea, coffee, sugar, little milk, salt and pepper in the house.

Such a pity the place is really aging and not being fixed properly- for 6000 per night- you feel every should be in good

Phenomenal views, comfortable bed, decent linen, nicely decorated. Pet friendly

The unit although well decorated is very very tired- specifically the kitchen cupboards are very old Mould in the main bedroom bathroom- foliage on the roof could be the cause of this- perhaps if the plants would be cleared off the roof it might help clearing the mould. The cupboard doors and oven extractor were very dirty. The house is located in front of a carpark that ends as a cul de sac so you have a continuous stream of crayfish hawkers (who are also scouting for any open doors or items left outside ) or cars turning around in front of you- so not a great deal of privacy. Benches and stretchers next to the pool are broken and the cushions on the chairs on the patio were so filthy we didn’t want to sit on them. The rate per night is R6000- every should be in good condition. we cant say we felt very safe- have to worry about locking everything away every night, putting alarms on etc… lots of locals coming past the house to look at you on the patio

Perfect location, shabby house.

The location was fabulous and we really enjoyed our holiday in Paternoster.

The house was dirty and shabby. It is in desperate need of a good clean and some maintenance. The braai grids were in a very poor state and the kitchen utensils were inadequate. Plenty of cutlery and crockery. The showers need doors but otherwise the bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable.

This is our 4th stay in the house and we always look forward to our visits.

The location of the house is perfect and it has a lovely braai/porch area with a sea view. The house is very well appointed and comfortable for two couples and two singles. We liked the bedding and the new towels.

Enjoyable stay with great views.

The property is a short walking distance from the beach and in a quiet cul de sac. It is a spacious property with an outside area with an ocean view and a braai. Big dining table and ample space to sit on the couch. Rooms are separate from the living area and we found this very nice. There is also a pool but unfortunately not able to use it due to the cooler winter weather. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a gas stove, big oven and there is a dishwaser and washing machine.

The bathrooms basins are in the shower and your feet get wet when you brush teeth or face in basin. the front shutter door has no lock. The couch and chairs in the living area needs replacement or cleaning as it is stained and dirty. The home could do with a bit of maintenance.

They deducted money from our deposit for something we did not break. Be careful.

The location is quite nice but I won't stay here again based on how we were treated. There are far too many amazing places to stay. We wont be back here again.

I booked to stay here with friends for my husband’s birthday. Afterwards they deducted money from the hefty deposit for a mirror that was broken which we did not break. We didn’t even SEE the mirror. My friends are all very responsible and honest. I have stayed in countless rentals and I have never been accused of breaking furniture or decor. Sure you might break a glass or something that you use often but how on earth do you break a mirror?! Out of principle I am really not impressed that they deducted that money from us even though we had nothing to do with it. They sent us a photo of the supposed mirror and the mirror itself was actually not even broken at all, it was just the frame that seemed unhooked which can easily be fixed with superglue…yet they make the client pay to REPLACE something that 1) can be easily fixed and 2) is not their responsibility because they did not break it. It’s completely ridiculous and it created far too much admin for what was meant to be a lovely weekend away. I will NEVER stay here again and I’m sorry to say but I won’t book anything with ‘Stay in Paternoster’ either. Also noteworthy is that there is no salt & pepper so you need to take your own. I’ve never encountered that before, usually there is at least salt & pepper even if it’s self-catering. We also had no hot water in room 4.

We enjoyed our stay at Paternoster, although disappointed by some aspects of the property.

Good location as close to the beach, comfortable house overall.

Let down by standard of maintenance and cleanliness. Property is a bit ‘tired’. The terrace overlooks a car park at the end of the cul-de-sac, which is not evident from the photos.
