The perfect place to stay to visit the town and surrounding area

Great stay in a stunning location.

Fantastic location overlooking the sea. Verandah largely protected from the prevailing South Easterly wind. Nice outside braai and seating area. Peter came in twice a day to do the dishes, which was a great help while on holiday.

Parking is across the street in a public area, which isn't great, but it turned out not to be a problem at all.

This was a fantastic property for lots of family memories

Great location, good layout, extra room at side was a bonus and great for silence from family hustle and bustle. Only thing we wished for was salt and pepper 😀. No other wants from the property Peter was great

A wonderful stay in a beautiful location with a fantastic host – we would love to return.

The location was excellent, and the view was simply stunning. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy quality time with family. Peter was a fantastic host – so friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

There was really nothing we didn’t enjoy – everything met our expectations.

Beachfront location, but property needs refurbish

The location of this home is stunning - as it’s right on the beach & opposite Voorstrand Restaurant.

The furniture needs replacing & refurbishing - the couches in the living area are fraying at the edges & worn out. The house itself is old cottage-style and desperately needs to be refurbished. Eg. the wooden doors and windows does not close properly & this made the bedrooms cold and “windy” even though everything was “closed up”. Not pleasant for a winter get-away.

Cosy, hospitable, deeply nourishing and rejuvenating.

Felt very looked after by Peter who runs the property. Prime beachfront property. I woke to the most incredible sunrise over the ocean and aloes in the foreground. Splendid hearth inside to make food on. Massive hearth outside for braai. Big table to play games at. Just a wonderful, wonderful experience. Will remember our stay for a long time to come.

Stunning position on the beach . Big open indoor fireplace was great for the cold nights. Spacious outdoor veranda for lazy afternoons. Beautiful comfortable downstairs bedrooms.

The upstairs mattresses need to be replaced. The bathroom towels are old and need replacing.

The property is perfectly located opposite the beach. Fantastic outdoor entertainng area. The rooms were comfortable. Tracey was easy to communicate with and Peter was super helpful on site

We would have expected more for the price - no soap, no Rusk, no tea or coffee.- no hairdryer, no wood- At the end, cleaning and service costs are added to the already high price.

View and availability of everything one would need for a weekend break Peter was most helpful and obliging and available when needed The braais worked wonderfully for the Heritage weekend

The downstairs separate room was unusable due to the cooking smells that were coming from Peters rooms throughout the stay. Also the electricity trips every time that Peter cooks. Not sure if he is aware that this is the reason for the trips. Several items need repairing such as the Toilet seat in the downstairs main room and the front door handle, Some hanging space in the main room downstairs would be convenient.

It was a good, relaxing weekend! A home away from home! West Coast rocks!

We received an e-mail well in advance with instructions. Peter was super friendly and helpful and showed us the way. Thank you Peter!!

The small bedroom has no place to put away or hang your clothes and no fan. It was very hot on Friday night, thank goodness we could open the window and listen to the ocean.

Die Pomphuisie is Koning!

I really liked the warm welcome I received and the view from the main bedroom is superb. The rooms are comfortable and clean as are the bathrooms. The beach is just across the road and a restaurant with tasty seafood treats. It's more than big enough for a large family we found and we are definitely booking a holiday in December here.

Property is tired and needs some smartening up. No wifi available, dishwasher available but no washtabs. No welcome pack, ie: no tea/coffee/milk.

Position was perfect. Seafront view and only a few meters and you are on the beach.

The bathrooms needs to be updated. Shower needs to be scrub and needs to be spotless.

Great sunsets and wonderful location.

Location was perfect! Right across a street from the beach with fantastic sunsets. Peter was great and very kind and helpful.

The sink in the bathroom in main bedroom was leaking badly, so we had a lot of water on the floor. This was apparently something that just happened and was going to be repaired the next day. Suggest that any guests coming check whether this has been repaired. One understands that this can happen, so not the end of the world. For the price I expected there to be firewood for the fireplace, but there was nothing, so had to go and buy from the local shop, which was not too bad, but this is something I think can improve.

Wonderful location, great for 3 couples/families

Brilliant location, right on the beach. Beds very comfy and great quality linen. Lots of good sleeping spots. Verandah with lovely seating. Friendly neighborhood cat who loves kids. Inside braai a good touch. Responsive owner. A few rechargeable bulbs for load shedding.

Overall management a little lacking - no sponge for dishes, only two dishwasher tablets provided for a three night stay, damp towels provided on the bed, only *one* black bag for entire stay, no salt or any basics one would expect. I guess one pays for the location, mainly, but it felt a little... tight-fisted considering the daily rate.

Relaxing, peaceful and a delightful time to touch base with each family member

Wonderful location! We had breakfast on the balcony and looked out over to the sea. The kitchen was well equipped with excellent braai facilities. The house was generally very comfortable. We had booked for 6 but two of our party couldn't come because of work commitments, so we didn't use the upstairs at all. Great house for a couple of families with children.

There was no soap in the bathrooms and no hand towels except in the one shower. The house is also showing signs of wear with the security gate coming off at the wall in the main bedroom and the wooden doors and windows require maintenance.

location location location. lovely friendly caretaker nice conversion in particular upstairs

no electric options when there was power shedding , like a power bank / inverter small camping gas cooker for tea/coffee etc. needed some paintwork , beginning to look tired in places.
