A beautiful, comfortable apartment in a perfect location with gracious hosts!

The apartment was spacious, beautifully furnished, and had stunning river views from every window and the balcony. The kitchen was fully stocked, the beds were comfortable, and having a shower and sink in each bedroom was incredibly convenient. The hosts were warm, responsive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.

Lovely, spacious apartment in good location.

Lovely apartment. Being picky, it isn't very cosy but this is offset by the spacious living room and kitchen and how well equipped the apartment is. Pictures are accurate and there are cosy pubs and restaurants within 10 minutes walk, or 30 minutes walk in the centre of Ghent. It's about €10 in a taxi to the centre (also the train station) but the walk is pleasant if you go by the canal. A few very important points: There is a €250 cash deposit payable at the start. This was no problem, but just bear it in mind. The car parking space is difficult to get into for anything other than a small car. I just got in with my Mercedes E class and the owner was super helpful in manoeuvring us in. You have to register for the Ghent ULEZ if you are taking a car from outside Netherlands and Belgium. Just search for this, but it takes 2 weeks and the rules are changing early 2026. WAZE did not take us the correct way and directed us via a cycle path(!), but Google maps was accurate. One taxi deliberately took us to the wrong address across the canal, but we found using a nearby street as the destination meant this didn't occur. Bolt tended to be better than Uber. There is Kayak hire available nearby and we saw bike hire advertised, which would have been great but we didn't notice until the last day.

Exceptional Apartment

The apartment is absolutely lovely, exceedingly clean, very spacious, well equipped and beautifully furnished, beds are very comfortable, fantastic balcony with lovely views, fabulous hosts, couldn't be better. Highly recommend.

The only slight problem for us was the parking which is in an underground car park. The designated space is not suitable for a very large vehicle. We have an Audi Q7 which was impossible to get into the space. The owner very kindly arranged another space which we were able to get the car into however it was not ideal as the car was just too long. All was good and not an issue but anybody with a large vehicle beware.

The location was fine but getting into town was quite a long walk or required use of bus and tram. The public transport worked well though.

Fantastic apartment close to a beautiful city.

The property was stylish, comfortable and well equipped. The hosts were excellent, met us and were very helpful. We brought cycles, the garage was secure and just what we needed.

Only a small point, an extra toilet would make it perfect. Not a problem for us with 4 adults.

Very comfortable apartment but with important flaws

Special mention to the very warm welcome. Beautiful decorated apartment with spectacular river views. Also, the large balcony is very nice. Spacious living room, integrated with the kitchen. Comfortable beds. Fully equipped kitchen. To the center it is a 25 minute walk (see below some comments). I would suggest to the host to provide bicicles. Elevator and on site underground parking are very convenient.

Be prepared to wake up by the sun light, because the windows have only shutters, which not really block the morning light, specially in the East room. This is an issue that can be easily solved and was the main reason to the score we gave. Also, now, in August 2023 there is a huge building construction across the river (very close to the apartment) and they start making big noises at 7AM. This construction will certantly go to mid 2024. This is completely beyond the owners control, but other guests should know about this. No freezer. This is very unusual in apartments like this. To the center it is a 25 minute walk. Be aware when driving to city center or to the apartment: the LEZ (low emission zone) in Ghent is very large and almost encomprises this apartment. Need to register your car and I would expect this point to be highlighted in the apartment description, because driving in this zone without a permit implies a fine. Too few power outlets. I would expect to have a washing machine in an apartment like this, but we knew about it before arriving.

Good property, nice location and very friendly hosts

Nice location overlooking the river and new cycle/walkway bridge, good distance by bike into Ghent, hosts super friendly and communication very good.

Only have one toilet even though it had two bathrooms, so for a couple not ideal ( but ok) would be fine for a family, also apartment gets pretty warm on sunny days ( even with windows/french doors open)

Lovely apartment, good setting and great hosts!

The owners were very helpful and even picked us up from the railway station. Lovely clean apartment, well equipped and larger than expected. The welcome beer was much appreciated! Short along the river to the centre of Ghent.

We went with friends and although bathrooms are en-suite the toilet is shared which was fine for us but may not suit everyone Unfortunately , and completely beyond the owners control, there is a large building site across the river which had lights and a generator running all night over the weekend and an early start on Monday. It wasnt bad with the windows closed but could be annoying when the weather is warmer.

We would have stayed an extra week if we could - great place / hidden gem.

Great place, great views, very accommodating host who came to see us several times every time we had a question or request. Was pro-active in suggesting solutions like a child crib or a high chair for the kids. Would definitely recommend this place and host to anyone.

Besides the great views, the location is a bit of a walk to a bakery or shop. Although you are very near to / in the city centre, we found ourselves using the car almost most of the times as the entire block falls in between the inner city rink and two rivers. This is the downside of having such a great view.

Departamento de ensueño en Gante

El departamento es un sueño!!! Luminoso, con una vista espectacular y con todo lo que se puede precisar en una estadía de vacaciones. Los anfitriones fueron muy amables y nos explicaron muchas cosas. Avisamos que llegábamos un poquito más tarde de lo convenido el día del checkin, ya que tuvimos problemas con el vuelo y con el tránsito y nos esperaron igual con una sonrisa. La cochera es muy cómoda. Y las camas son espectaculares. Tiene 2 habitaciones con cama matrimonial cada una, y en la habitación hay ducha y pileta lavamanos. Por separado hay un baño que sólo tiene un inodoro y una piletita lavamanos. Realmente volvimos fascinados por el departamento y por la atención.

Een fijn appartement om Gent te ontdekken. Ruim, schoon, comfortabel en vriendelijje host

De locatie ligt prachtig. Wij huurden stadsfietsen en binnen 10 minuten sta je hartje centrum. Het is schoon en ruim. Vriendelijke host. Zeer complete uitrusting en ook koffie/ thee en dergelijke aanwezig.

Er wordt airco geplaatst binnenkort dus dat is fijn. En wij vonden het hek rondom het balkon wat gevaarlijk aangezien het niet stabiel was.

Außergewöhnliche Unterkunft in traumhafter Lage

Das Apartment liegt im 6. Stock (Aufzug und Tiefgaragenstellplatz vorhanden) und hat einen wunderschönen großen Balkon mit Blick auf den Fluss. Die Wohnung ist ausreichend groß für 4 Erwachsene und sehr exklusiv eingerichtet. Die Küche ist komplett ausgestattet mit Senseo Kaffeemaschine, Spülmaschine, Mikrowelle. Im Kühlschrank gab es für jeden ein belgisches Bier. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich. Bis ins Zentrum waren es 18 Minuten Fußweg. Wir waren sehr begeistert von diesem wunderschönen Apartment.

Es gibt nichts zu gemängeln.

Wunderbare Wohnung für kurze und längere Urlaube

Die Wohnung befindet sich im 6. Stock und verfügt über eine geräumige Terrasse, die allerdings sehr windanfällig ist. Sie ist geräumig, sehr geschmackvoll und praktisch eingerichtet und beinhaltet alles, was man für einen Aufenthalt benötigt. Besonders angetan waren wir von den hervorragenden Betten. Sehr angenehm ist auch, dass zur Wohnung ein Tiefgaragenparkplatz gehört.

Die Fenster bieten im geschlossenen Zustand wenig Schutz vor dem Straßenlärm (feiernden Studenten). Gut wäre es, wenn noch etwas flachere Polster zur Auswahl stehen würden.

Gent ist immer eine Reise wert. Der Kurzausflug nach Brügge war über. Diese Stadt ist zu voll.

Die Lage war gut. Da die Unterkunft nicht direkt in der Altstadt liegt (allerdings ist diese sehr gut erreichbar) war der vorhandene Parkplatz für das Auto in der Tiefgarage optimal. Die Altstadt ist durch die in der Nähe befindliche Teamstation sehr gut zu erreichen. Zu empfehlen ist bei einem mehrtägigen Aufenthalt die 48- bzw. 72-Stunden-Citycard, die zu freier Benutzung des ÖPNV berechtigt sowie kostenlosen bzw. vergünstigten Zugang zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten bietet.

Die Messer in der Küche hätten etwas schärfer sein können.
