The apartment was absolutely fantastic — spotlessly clean, peaceful, beautifully decorated, and with a truly unique and wonderful view. It had everything we could possibly need during our stay, including air conditioning, which we were especially grateful for on the very hot days. Every detail of the apartment felt carefully chosen, and you could really see the personal care and love that the hosts had put into creating such a beautiful and welcoming home. The location was also very convenient, with easy access to public transport. The hosts themselves were equally wonderful. They are a genuinely warm and welcoming family who personally greeted us, showed us around the apartment, and gave us all the information we needed for our stay in Ghent. One small but very thoughtful detail said a lot about the way they treat their guests: they had left a selection of different Belgian beers in the fridge for us to enjoy, as well as chocolates to have with our coffee. It was such a lovely gesture and made us feel welcome from the very beginning. Communication with them was excellent throughout our stay. They were friendly, helpful and always easy to reach whenever we needed anything. Staying in this apartment was genuinely one of the things that made our experience of Ghent so special. It was much more than simply a place to stay — it became part of the wonderful memories we brought home with us. Thank you so much for your hospitality and for helping us create such unique and unforgettable memories. We would be very happy to stay here again.

Die Wohnung war fantastisch. Vor allem aber die tollen Gastgeber haben den Aufenthalt zu einem Highlight gemacht. Die Lage ist super mit wunderschönem Ausblick von der Terrasse. Auch die Tiefgarage ist ein großer Pluspunkt.

Special mention to the very warm welcome. Beautiful decorated apartment with spectacular river views. Also, the large balcony is very nice. Spacious living room, integrated with the kitchen. Comfortable beds. Fully equipped kitchen. To the center it is a 25 minute walk (see below some comments). I would suggest to the host to provide bicicles. Elevator and on site underground parking are very convenient.

Be prepared to wake up by the sun light, because the windows have only shutters, which not really block the morning light, specially in the East room. This is an issue that can be easily solved and was the main reason to the score we gave. Also, now, in August 2023 there is a huge building construction across the river (very close to the apartment) and they start making big noises at 7AM. This construction will certantly go to mid 2024. This is completely beyond the owners control, but other guests should know about this. No freezer. This is very unusual in apartments like this. To the center it is a 25 minute walk. Be aware when driving to city center or to the apartment: the LEZ (low emission zone) in Ghent is very large and almost encomprises this apartment. Need to register your car and I would expect this point to be highlighted in the apartment description, because driving in this zone without a permit implies a fine. Too few power outlets. I would expect to have a washing machine in an apartment like this, but we knew about it before arriving.
