Good place to stay

Room and Breakfast are very good. Toilet and Shower rooms are clean but did not comfortable because they are not in bedroom. The owner is very good man. He supported us everything.

The house is stunning. An old house, with everything inside: renovated rooms and apartment, everything very modern and new. Super cozy. The host was incredibly welcoming. He welcomed us with all kinds of information, including tourism, restaurants, a map, etc. We had everything we needed in the kitchen for breakfast, and bread, croissants, etc., for breakfast first thing in the morning. Very attentive throughout. Perfect location for visiting Ghent. Thank you Marc.

A hidden gem

Such a lovely place to stay, the hosts were very kind and friendly. Elvine was accommodating and provided helpful suggestions about what to do and where to eat. An impressive size bedroom and great bathroom facilities (separate to the room). Fresh bread and croissants were provided in the morning as part of the breakfast. Very impressed 😊

Perfect

Elvine met us at the property. She was really friendly, professional and knowledgeable and gave us all the information we required. Prior to us arriving Elvine/Marc responded promptly to our messages/requests and informed us of the LEZ/OLEZ information we had to complete if driving in Gent. The house is obviously part of a private residence but we were never imposed on and we had the added bonus of a patio, which was private and nice to sit in, in the early evening. Wehad a well stocked fridge - Cheese, various ham, yogurts, fresh orange, water ... everything we needed. Fresh bread was also delivered first thing in the morning. Also a coffee maker, kettle, toaster and microwave. We met with Marc and was also extremely helpful and friendly. He also gave us directions to a supermarket where we could purchase our Belgium beers and French wines. There was also fresh chicken in the garden, if you could catch them :@) ....... only joking ! Recommended - Thank you Maison Willian Tell !!

Wonderful spacious apartment with all comforts for a great stay in Ghent.

The apartment is very spacious and it is kitted with high quality furniture while also being super practical. It is set in a beautiful historic house and it has been redone to high specs. The level of comfort was exceptional and visiting with younger guests it was perfect. The room has a large window-door towards a terrace facing a charming garden with unexpected hosts... two hens! The kitchen has all utensils needed and breakfast was amazing. Very kind hosts, thank you for a wonderful stay in Ghent !

Minor thing: curtains with slightly better coverage of corners in the sliding window-door towards the garden might improve room privacy.

Excellent stay at a really charming bed and breakfast.

Our host was wonderful; very friendly and very responsive. The room was spacious and pleasant with great views and airflow from the windows. The breakfast was simple but ample, and the bread brought fresh each morning was a treat. The location was also good.

The only drawback is that the toilet is a shared toilet in the hallway. Americans, your own bathroom means the shower.

What a beautiful place to stay. The mansion is fitted with quality furniture and antiques throughout. Very authentic feel. Large comfortable rooms. Great for a family of four. Easy, safe and cheap parking on street outside the apartment and arranged by host (€10 per day) . Comfortable beds. Great location. Easy walking distance to/from the centre of town. Host was especially helpful and friendly. Flexible with our check-in time as we were running late. We really appreciated the large apartment. Lots of space for all of our luggage. Great projector TV. Felt like a holiday home away from home. Thank you - we would love to stay again!!

A great place to stay

great location about 15 mins walk from the historic center. Also on the 1 tram route which runs every 15 mins between here station and historic center. Apartment clean and spacious, good kitchen facilities with lots of crockery. Generous continental breakfast. Juice/ water/ milk/ cereal/ tea/coffee and a selection of cheeses and hams left in apartment with fresh bread and croissants delivered every morning. Mattius- was very helpful- providing maps and recommendations.

There is no lift in the property so climbing 2 floors may be a problem for some people.

Unexpected Ghent Gem

Mathieu checked us and was extremely friendly. He was armed with a local tourist map and talked through the places of interest to visit and marked them on the map for us. The property is in a great location with a tram line a few mins away making the train station and the city easily accessible. Absolutely stunning building so beautifully restored. We stayed on the ground floor and had so much space with access to the back garden through large sliding doors flooding the place with light. The projector TV was a huge hit with our two kids. The breakfast provided was fantastic and totally far exceeded our expectations. Such a fantastic selection provided of cereals, yoghurts, juices, coffee/tea, cheese and cold meats...with a basket of fresh bread and pastries each morning, such a simple yet amazing touch. Will definitely stay here again if travelling to Ghent and have recommended friends since our return.

A stellar place in the middle of Ghent.

I liked absolutely everything. I checked my bill a number of times to find out whether I had forgotten a digit in the numbers. The flat is amazing, spacious, and nicely located. The host is extremely nice and kind.

A good B&B for a city trip to Ghent with a very nice and friendly host.

Host was waiting for us and everything was prepared perfectly. Car can be parked at a private parking lot for a fee of 10 Euro/day, there is a height-limit of 1,83 m for the car when entering the parking lot. Room was very spacious and well furnished. The bed is very comfortable. The bigger rooms are furnished wit a small kitchen. Breakfast can be eaten individually in the room, the fridge has all kinds of cheese/sausage, jam, honey and yoghurt. Bread is provided to the room daily by the host. They also provide juices and a bottle of water per day. We liked it very much, that there are no fixed times for the breakfast. The B&B is right in the city centre of Ghent, one can reach almost everything in a 15 - 20 minute walk. There are plenty of restaurants and bars around.

Excellent and quiet place for stay over to visit Gent.

We were welcomed by Mathieu, the host, who handed over the keys. The room was very big, however toilet and shower are separate. Since only a few rooms in the facility that was not an issue. The breakfast is very good and available in room. Fresh bread and croissants are delivered at the door. So one gets up comfortably and relaxed, having in room breakfast, as everything else, including fresh coffee and juice and whatever else for breakfast is available in a fridge. Even a dishwasher is built in. The location is excellent to visit Gent!

The sink drain in the room could not be closed, so one had to keep the water running during washing. The use of TV was a bit impractical because of the screen and projector system, where the screen is covering the big window and the curtains where partly hiding the sides. We missed a radio. It can be activated through the telenet box, but for people unfamiliar, it’s too difficult.

Our suite was spacious and had everything the two of us needed. This modern, recently renovated suite is located on the third floor of a beautiful character building with no elevator, so if you have mobility issues it may not be for you, however, it was perfectly fine for us. Hosts are exceptional, helpful, very nice people, made us feel at home. If we ever again visit the beautiful city of Ghent we would stay at Maison Willem Tell.
