Maison Drappier

The apartment is excellent. It is within walking distance of Gent city centre, and there are a few shops/restaurants close by. It is spacious and has all the necessary amenities for a very comfortable stay (the board games were a very pleasant surprise 😀). The host was incredibly friendly and very responsive to messages, and gave us recommendations on places to eat which was very helpful. I would definitely recommend this apartment, and will stay here again.

The place was spacious and comfortable. The outdoor terrace was great. The chocolates were a nice touch.

Extremely modern accommodations, clean, very close to tram, lovely host and thoughtful kitchen and bath items.

The only concerning issue is the tram being outside the bedroom window. It was not an overwhelming problem but lite sleepers should be aware. The tram does seem to stop late at night but starts early in the morning.

We stayed at Maison Drappier for three nights in September. The communication with the host, Emma, was good before & during the stay. She lives with her family above the apartment, so is on hand to address any problems & offer local recommendations. We met Emma in person during our stay, and our chat with her was very enjoyable. The apartment itself was great: it is modern, comfortable and very spacious. We didn’t use the patio area, but it was available. The owners have provided plenty of interior lighting to compensate for the relative absence of natural light. Emma offers everything needed for a comfortable stay, from the practical (a clotheshorse for wet clothes) to the decorative (chocolates & sweets on a plate). The apartment was spotlessly clean on arrival. Location. The property is about a 12-15 minute walk from the Korenlei/Graslei area of the city centre. If travelling to Gent by train, the Oude Houtlei stop on the T1 tram route from Gent St Pieters station is right outside the property. We were aware of the trams passing by, but we didn’t find the noise intrusive, and indeed the property was quiet for a city centre location. There is a convenience store & bakery down the road, with a large supermarket at Couter, about a 7-8 minute walk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Maison Drappier and would recommend it unhesitatingly.
