Wonderful host and ideal location for a family of 5

We stayed here for three nights over Christmas break and truly enjoyed the experience. We loved the opportunity to stay in a traditional, charming Belgian apartment. The apartment is in a wonderful location, close to the canal in downtown Ghent. We were able to walk easily to attractions, shops, and restaurants, yet it was quiet at night and in the mornings which we really appreciated. While we hadn’t realized ahead of time that the apartment is on two levels, it worked perfectly well for our family. The living room featured what initially looked like a pool table, but it was actually a different game—which our teen/young adult kids enjoyed. The bedrooms were cozy, well equipped, and comfortable. Bernard was a very accommodating host and checked in during our stay to ensure we had everything we needed. We requested an early check-in, and he was able to accommodate us, which was appreciated after a long flight and given that it was the day after Christmas. We had a small issue connecting to the Wi-Fi initially, but help was provided almost immediately. Overall, this stay met and exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely recommend this apartment and would gladly consider staying here again.

The only concern we had was that the shower towels were very small.

Next door to a bar, which wasn’t a problem just a bit noisy on the Friday night (particularly if in front bedrooms). City centre location so was expecting some street noise.

We'll be back

The location. The property is a stones throw from the castle and some lovely restaurants. There is also an extremely handy Carrefour Express just meters from the front door. The apartment is huge and charming. 3 large double bedrooms and a really generous kitchen and living area. The peaceful and private patio is a real bonus. It was lovely to stay in an authentic, older Belgian property, that was immaculate and had everything we needed

I can't really think of anything negative to say. We'll be back next year

Spacious, Comfortable, City Centre Flat, Ghent

Location, space, facilities It is a lovely flat, with a small, sunny terrace out the back. Very comfortable, with room for three couples. Great city centre location (a public carpark is nearby). Spacious rooms. Comfortable seating for all in the living room, and in the kitchen. My family loved the place.

No TV in the living room (We used a computer, which gave us internet access to a film - The Monuments Men - which features the Gent altarpiece...) Dropping off bags can be tricky, as there is often no available parking outside the flat. Stopping in the roadway is possible for a couple of minutes - but you'd be parking on the tram line! The alternative is to walk with your luggage from Parking Ramen, about 3 minutes walk away. So there are solutions to every problem!

Great location, short walk to areas we wanted to visit. Had fun playing our first ever game of Triball for first time.

Unfortunately there was an issue with no hot water in the upstairs bathroom. This was unexpected and understandably could not be fixed immediately as plumber was unavailable at the weekend we were there.

Lovely spacious apartment in the center of Gent. We loved it.

The apartment was in the center of Gent, a few minutes walk from the beautiful castle of Gravesteen. We loved the big kitchen with large table. We spent most of our evenings there. All the beds were very comfortable. The place was very clean and we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back. We had an amazing time at the apartment and in Gent.

May be one of the best apartments in Gent; large, chic, comfortable and centrally located

Almost everything; specially the double basins of lavabo and the heat of the bathroom, the two independent restrooms, the bathrobe; the terrace; the huge kitchen with all facilities; the furniture....

The heating of the upper floor (bedrooms) might be better. The missing sleepers and bottle opener.

Το κατάλυμα βρίσκεται στο κέντρο της Γάνδης σε ένα πολύ ωραίο και ασφαλές κτίριο . Το σπίτι είναι μεγάλο και μπορεί να φιλοξενήσει αρκετά άτομα, εμείς ήμασταν μία παρέα πέντε φίλων. 'Ήταν πολύ καθαρό και εξοπλισμένο με όσα χρειάζεται κάποιος για να έχει μία άνετη διαμονή. Λατρέψαμε την κουζίνα και το μεγάλο τραπέζι της. Ο οικοδεσπότης ήταν ευγενικός και πρόθυμος να μας εξυπηρετήσει σε ότι του ζητήσαμε. Σίγουρα θα επιστρέφαμε ξανά στο κατάλυμα στο μέλλον. Ευχαριστούμε πολύ Bernard για τη φιλοξενία.

Comme à la maison

La maison est magnifique. On n’avait pas envie de rentrer chez soi. On a bien profité de la terrasse avec le beau temps. Les chambres sont spacieuses et la salle de bain aussi. On se sent à l’aise. Il y a tout le confort pour se sentir bien. La cuisine est complète. L’hôte est vraiment réactif et se soucie de notre bien être. L’emplacement est top. Vraiment à recommander

Wunderschöne Unterkunft in zentraler Lage in einer tollen Stadt.

Netter Vermieter, tolle zentrale Lage, viele Highlights können fußläufig erreicht werden. Die Ausstattung ist teilweise sehr geschmackvoll und liebevoll. Wir waren zu viert und haben die Großzügigkeit des Appartements sehr genossen. Auch für 6 Personen ist genug Platz. Die große Dusche hat uns besonders gefallen. Wir haben die Zeit in Gent in dieser schönen Unterkunft sehr genossen und werden bestimmt wiederkommen.

Die Duschhandtücher waren ein wenig klein.
