Stylish loft apartment in a great location

Smart apartment in a great location, the parking is not immediately outside the property, however is secure which was helpful. And the apartment was stylish with a great upstairs loft room. The apartment was warm in the day with underfloor heating which was great.

There isn't an oven in the kitchen, the dishwasher hadn't been run so still had some dirty things in, and the duvet on the downstairs bed was not thick enough for winter when the heating went off at night.

The ambiance was as perfect as the photos, but there were some drawbacks during the actual stay.

We stayed in a two-story room type, with a balcony on the second floor, offering views of the Gravensteen. Overall, the room was quite clean and relaxing.

This accommodation does not have an elevator, so we had to carry 30 kg suitcases up narrow stairs. The stairs leading to the second floor of the room were even narrower spiral stairs, and there was a risk of slipping when wearing socks. For those with less physical strength, it could be very difficult from the start. Additionally, there was no air conditioning on the second floor, only a fan that only blew air onto the stairs, which made sleeping at night very uncomfortable, especially when still sweating after a hot shower.

Very difficult for senior citizens to walk up as the stairs are very steep, no lift present (we were on the third floor ) and heating wasn’t working so was pretty cold in rainy night.

Amazing location. It was clean and well maintained.

It wasn’t an issue for us really, but the stairs aren’t for those who may be a little unsteady on their feet. Sofa bed would only really work for smaller children.

Great Location and Decor, but Poor Service and Noise Issues

The location was very nice and central and the apartment was nicely decorated.

We traveled with a baby and we had requested a baby cot, however it was not set up and there were no bed linens for the cot, just the plastic mattress. Also, the communication with the host was limited to 12:00-16:00. After that timeframe he was nowhere to be found even though we had issues with the baby cot. The insulation was not great, resulting in hearing the tenants walking and talking.

Overall good, but could be better

Location is very good. Amenities inside the apart was enough even for a longer stay (we stayed only 1 night). There were extra sheets for the 3rd person in the room. The separator in the room was OK to use. The host sends you a link that you can insert your info where you'd be expected to upload an official document to check-in. This is one of those hotels / aparts that you encounter with no host / human directly; only communication is through a portal (which turned out to be OK for us).

Could have been a bit cleaner (the sheets were OK but the rest of the room didn't seem like cleaned like you'd like, there was dust all over the place), the sofa was not the most comfortable bed for the 3rd person. And mosquitos... a lot of them. You could use a fly screen as it's a problem in Ghent during summer. I spent the night chasing after them.

The staircase to the loft, where the bed is, is a bit dangerous; narrow with no handrails. If you have to get out of bed during the night, to go to the bathroom, you must be very alert.

Lovely Stay in Ghent

The location was great for the old town and Graserli areas. The property was clean and comfortable with a lovely outside roof terrace. There was a tram stations 20m away and about 100m away to different areas of the city.

We had prepared earlier for our stay without an elevator and were able to only take our small bag to the apartment. But it was 4 flights of stairs and also stairs inside the apartment for the top bedroom.

Perfect stay in Gent!

Great communication after an initial blip, but couldn't have asked for better help after this. Secure parking was really helpful. Very well equipped apartment, has everything you need. Also it is 2 minutes walk from the castle so really close to the centre. Would stay here again. One thing to consider the top apartment is up 3 flights of stairs and no lift. Our mum managed but it was tough for her.

Property was in a great location, was very clean and the beds were very comfortable.

Not a problem for us but some might struggle with the stairs. We were in the top floor property and the stairs were quite steep. An inside lock for the door. It is a code entry to the property with no way of locking when you are inside. I would have felt more comfortable being able to lock the door.

We hebben genoten

Heel mooi en schoon appartement, ook de ligging is perfect.

We waren met 4 volwassen mensen, de slaapbank was echt van een hele slechte kwaliteit. Een kind zou er misschien op kunnen slapen, maar niet 2 volwassen mensen. Het voeteinde lag een stuk omhoog waardoor je dus scheef ligt en je rolt naar het midden. Ook hoor je in het appartement niets van buiten, op die manier is het goed geïsoleerd. Echter deel je de ingang met 2 andere appartementen. Deze mensen kwamen s'nachts binnen en het leek alsof ze aan ons bed stonden, en dat 2 keer waardoor we hele slechte nachten hebben gehad.

Fantastische locatie dicht bij het centrum

De ruimte en fijne indeling in het appartement. Enorm schoon en dicht bij het centrum. Wij komen zeker eens terug naar deze fijne accommodatie. Vriendelijke eigenaar en goede communicatie.

Parkeren zou ik bij een gewone parkeergarage doen, dan kan je in en uit rijden wanneer je wil. Specifiek voor als je wat korter bent en langere dagen in de stad/ omgeving wil zijn.

Op alle gebieden een uitstekende accommodatie met goede communicatie door host Laurent. Echter een paar aandachtspuntjes, zie volgende vraag.

De lattenbodem van de slaapbank was niet ok. Er was een kuil in het midden waardoor je schuin lag en naar elkaar toe rolde… Te weinig mogelijkheden om je grote handdoeken na het douchen op te hangen om te drogen, zeker met een bezetting van 4 personen… Geen koffie lepeltjes…
