I stayed two nights in the Superior Family room which was marvellous. An enormous space overlooking the river. The top floor onsen and adjoining outdoor bath were special. As a solo guest, I didn't dine in. Staff were so generous with offers to drive me to and from the station although it's only a 10 min walk.
The main toilet 'washlet' function was still broken as I had read in reviews when I booked but there is a second toilet.

Staying in a real ryokan and enjoying the onsen. Fantastic experience.
It is very dated, it could do with some carpet refreshing!

Delicious food breakfast and dinner. Very clean rooms.
Booked this stay for an onsen experience and on this front it was disappointing - the wood was rotting on the walls in the indoor bath area, and outside was far from relaxing with the constant sounds of diesel generators going.
