Phuong`s house

Wir waren mit unserem Aufenthalt in Phuong's house rundum zufrieden. Das traditionelle japanische Haus mitten in der Natur ist sehr gemütlich, großzügig und ausgesprochen gut ausgestattet. Wir haben uns sofort wohlgefühlt und hatten während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts absolut nichts zu bemängeln. Besonders schön fanden wir die ruhige Lage und die Nähe zum historischen Nakasendo-Weg. Für uns war es der perfekte Ausgangspunkt für unsere Wanderung zur alten Poststadt und gleichzeitig ein wunderbarer Ort, um nach einem erlebnisreichen Tag zur Ruhe zu kommen. Auch der Bahnhof von Nagiso ist gut erreichbar. Nur ein paar Schritte weiter sind es zur sehenswerten Momosuke-Brücke über den Fluss Kiso. Das Haus bietet viel Platz und alles, was man für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt benötigt. Die Küche und die Waschmaschine waren für uns besonders praktisch. Auch die traditionelle japanische Einrichtung mit Tatami-Matten und Schiebetüren hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Ein ganz besonderer Pluspunkt sind die herzlichen und außergewöhnlich hilfsbereiten Gastgeber. Die Kommunikation war sehr freundlich und unkompliziert, und wir haben uns von Anfang an willkommen gefühlt. Für uns war Phuong's house eine der schönsten Unterkünfte unserer Reise. Wir hätten gerne noch länger bleiben können und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Eine ganz klare Empfehlung!

Great location for access to the train station. Superb communication with host, who made our luggage transfer easy. Amazing washer dryer (even had built-in detergent dispensing) too.

Very lovely and typical japanese house. The guest was very lovely and helpful. He offered us to prepare food for us for the dinner so we took a kare katsu and a katsu don with rice, it was delicious. The house was spacious and all the necessary aminities where there. Very close from the Old Nakasendo pilgrim road so we were able to drop our luggages and take a walk for about 2h, walking down all the way to Tsumago juku. We ended up meeting with bears and seeing wonderful shrines and temples on our way. It was very humbling and ressourcing. Loved it all the way!

Nothing that I can think of. If I had one thing, if that it was a bit "far" (it's a big word) from the train station, about 15-20 minutes if I remember correctly and a bit elevated. We were kinda exhausted already with our big bags and all, that didn't help. It's not really something about the location itself but more our overall experience. The house and host were perfect! Oh one thing though, kinda sad that we couldn't use the balconies.

Phuong was an excelent host, a lifesaver truly. Not only the house is great but she helped us get a taxi late and night and have a great dinner.

We wish we stayed longer!
