Very comfortable and spacious accommodation in a wonderful old dwelling in the centre of Narai Juku. We were met at the door by our charming host Takashi. He gave us a detailed explanation as to how all the appliances worked. This information was also included in the Guest Handbook. Takashi also showed us brochures of the local attractions including the Nakasendo Way. He also told us of the local lacquer ware bowl festival that was to be held in Narai Juku and the neighbouring town of Kiso Hirasawa over the next 2 days. We changed our plans in order to attend this festival the next day. Thank you Takashi. This unexpected experience was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. We especially enjoyed the morning tea served by students at the local school in Kiso Hirasawa and the drum performance in the street in Narai Juku. Advice: We parked our car in Gonbei Parking area and left our luggage in the car. We then walked across the level crossing to the main street to find the house. It was only a short 5 minute walk from the car park to the house.
