We had a lovely welcome message, the accommodation was very spacious, the balcony and view were lovely overlooking the river, there was a homely restaurant next door and we could walk from the station

Convenient for Nakasendo trail hikers. Fantastic view! Close to the 7-Eleven for hiking food.
The bedding wasn’t particularly comfortable. The two single beds were ok but the sofa bed and the Japanese shikibuton roll-out futons weren’t very comfortable after a long hike on the trail.

Beautiful view from the balcony on the river. Easy to walk to the old Bridge and the river. Close to beautiful places like Atera valley and the post villages. Kiso valley itself is just very pretty.
Only four chairs on the balcony while we were with 5. Sleeping couch was partly broken.

The location was quite handy for walking the Nakasendo, and it was very clean and comfortable.
There was only one restaurant nearby and we were on a very busy highway with trucks driving past all night. It was hard to sleep. I would recommend using the ear plugs that the host kept in a tray in the apartment.
