Oyado Katsu

Beautiful view from the balcony on the river. Easy to walk to the old Bridge and the river. Close to beautiful places like Atera valley and the post villages. Kiso valley itself is just very pretty.

Only four chairs on the balcony while we were with 5. Sleeping couch was partly broken.

Collection of keys by lockbox and easy to find and there was a welcoming message written too so was great. We were driving and was terrific to have a carpark. Accommodation space is great. Lounge area, separate toilet, separate basin and bathroom. Interior fitout with lovely Japanese wall paper and decorations. Separate Japanese style room you can close off for kids or others to sleep. View from the balcony is great to bridge, river & little chipping style golf 'course'. Location great for a lovely walk to river and across the bridge. Restaurant 2 doors down and close to a convenience store. The owner was so accommodating and booked a taxi for us for the Nakasendo Trial. Very pleasant and kind natured.

Right by the highway which some may think a little noisy but didn't affect us.

The apartment was comfortable with a lovely view over the river. It was easy to walk to find restaurants for dinner and breakfast and an easy stop along the Nakasendo.

The apartment is on a main road so it is a bit loud, but earplugs solved that for us. The main road is a little dark at night.

The location was quite handy for walking the Nakasendo, and it was very clean and comfortable.

There was only one restaurant nearby and we were on a very busy highway with trucks driving past all night. It was hard to sleep. I would recommend using the ear plugs that the host kept in a tray in the apartment.
