Great place to stay in Walton town!

Great location. Good pub right on the sea front with pool table. Near to all shops and pier. Lovely owners, very accomodating and friendly. Good pub grub too! Lovely to sit outside on a sunny day looking at the sea. Beds were super comfy, sea view room was fab. Will come and stay again!

Unpretentious, comfy and convenient.

The location was perfect for the beach and town It was a friendly welcome, Frankie sorted out the free parking for us. The family room was spacious and had a fridge, which proved useful. Despite the central location it was quiet at night.

The addition of a microwave would have been helpful. The breakfast items provided in the room were basic but plentiful - bottled water, milk, juice, cornflakes, yogurts, pain au chocolat, biscuits, tea and coffee. However cooked or healthier breakfast options were available 5 minutes walk away in town.

Good price-quality ratio. Staff was very nice and helpful. Because we had to leave early (6.30 am) the staff made sure breakfast was already available in our room

A family-friendly hotel near Harwich with charming hidden touches and a very comfortable family room.

This hotel is full of pleasant surprises. My wife and children were over the moon with my choice for our stay near Harwich. We stayed in a spacious quiet see-breeze infused family room that was exceptionally comfortable.

The water from the tap was not drinkable. But we got many waterbotles!

Great location opposite the beach and in the centre of town. Friendly helpful staff, clean and tidy room with comfortable beds. We chose the upper room for the view and the extra bed, well worth the extra.

No cooked breakfast but that was OK as plenty of breakfast cafes close by

Really enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast options and table included in our room were a nice touch and meant we could feed our little one in the morning . Staff put themselves out to do us some food on the evening too, which was much appreciated.

Lovely stay.

The bathroom was lovely, beds comfortable room big. The couple couldn't do enough for us. The beer garden and shrimp shack was lovely. The view overlooking the sea made it perfect.

The breakfast was basic and could've been better but there enough. We were moved for safety due to the stair upto the bathroom in the sea view room. Which was a good and but unfortunate. The staircase up to the room was wide with hand rails, there is no lift though.

Very friendly hosts who helped with car parking and carried my bags upstairs. Breakfast provided in room was better then other comparable hotels. I stayed Sunday night and hotel seemed very quiet so got a good night's sleep.

Very friendly staff and after my boy said it was for his birthday they left quite a few beach toys for him outside our room. Very nice and made my noy very happy.

Excellent location and communication. Room was well stocked and clean. Everything worked great. The staff was excellent and willing to help with any of our needs.

Beds could be a bit softer. I know some like firm mattresses but it is hard to get used to if you're a side sleeper. No other issues noted and well worth the value for location and cleanliness.

Welcoming

Very warm welcome. Very kind owners, who went out of their way to provide excellent service. As during the night the fire alarm went off (false alarm) they felt the need not only to reimburse the night (which really wasn't necessary) they also supplied us with a bottle of wine and drinks for the children, with an apology card. In our view we prefer a fire alarm that goes off when nothing is wrong to an alarm that doesn't go off when there is. Despite the hotel clearly having had a hard corona time the service and warmth made up for any minor discomfort. The hotel is ideally suited right next to the beach, with unobstructed sea views, and is perfectly located for anyone who is travelling to catch a ferry at Harwich and needs a place to stay over. Ample parking space provided by the hotel.

The hotel could use a freshening up of the exterior and decor, but understandably the past few years must have been very challenging for a hotel that could not operate during pandemic lockdowns. The owners deserve a break to carry on their business and build it up further. All credit to their tenacity and guest oriented approach!
