Few other areas in property are not clean.

many light bulbs not working in the room and bathroom, mold inside shower door handle, shower tray broken, heating was not working properly, room radiator was cold even thoiugh on high setting but bathroom one was working, needs bit of work to tidy up the place. 3 people eating together at table for dinner, brought 1 dinner out and the others didnt come out for more than 10 mins later, all meals should come together for a table.

Very noisy heating pipes in the annexe, started at 315 in the morning and stopped at 515 in the morning of first night. Shower drain badly blocked, I was ankle deep in water despite highlighting.

Night Manager, Sunita (apologies if wrong spelling), was superb. She was welcoming, friendly and we enjoyed learning about her past. She was happy to accommodate us arriving at separate times. The room was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was delicious, the scrambled eggs and hash browns in particular were delightful! The public areas of the hotel were clean, tidy and there were several leaflets for local attractions etc. Elgin as a town is steeped in history and just a short walk up a gentle hill.

Could have done with a lamp in the room for side table. The main lights were very bright, especially first thing in the morning.

Location was good.

Staff smoking at the main entrance didn’t have an invoice upon checkout and had to ask for it again.

It was clean, friendly and welcoming

The stark white bedroom, there were no lamps just a bright overhead light, no artwork on the walls just plain white. It was very clinical and there was no ambience at all. Also the windows in the room weren't able to be opened and the heating was on, it was stifling.

Regular emails re our arrival. A lovely welcome when we arrived, informed us of meal times, directions to our room, asked if we would like to eat in the hotel at dinner.

We stayed in the "Annexe ". Carpets thread bare and definitely not the entrance you would expect to a deluxe room We were booked into a "deluxe king" room. Room 8 is definitely not deluxe. What a shock when we walked into the room. "Tired" is my polite way of describing it. No plug for bathroom sink, water boiling. No hand soap, had to use shower gel to wash our hands Cistern cracked, No mirror in the bedroom, We headed down to discuss the room with the duty staff. She was so helpful. She explained that there was no other room available ti move us to on our first night, but she would move our belongings to a room in the main part of the hotel the next day. She explained that the hotel was going through a refurbishment and apologised profusely for the inconvenience and our disappointment. If it wasn't for her care, we would have walked out and would now be in pursuit of a full refund. Nicola is the staff member, I can't say what her position within the hotel is because she was our Welcome at reception, Bar waitress Evening meal waitress Breakfast waitress We also saw her cleaning and hoovering the next morning. We know it's difficult for hospitality but I do hope the owners appreciate what a star they have in Nicola.

The breakfast was very nice. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful.

The carpet in the room was old,we could feel the springs in the mattress. Very noisy bed. The shower control was very difficult to adjust. The front door needed the holes fixed. The carpet at the front annex building needed to be replaced.

the hotel is in a good location , short walk from the town centre , plenty of parking

Lack of guests and staff. This place is good but perhaps expensive compared to the competition. I think it needs to fill the hotel then increase prices to where they are now.

Room was of a good size the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.

Tennants draft was flat and wasn't right

Greeted every morning by a very hard working lady, nothing was too much trouble for her. She truly enjoyed her job.

There was no plug in the sink in the bathroom , it was reported on the first day, when we were leaving 5 days later there was still no plug. The water was so hot you could not wash your hands under the hot water tap. You needed the plug to be able to add cold water. The hot water tap was a botch job it was a cold water tap fitted on the hot water which was loose.

A very shabby and ill managed place. The price of a very basic double room was over two hundred and eighty pounds in July.

Friendly & Helpful staff on reception organized things for me.

Got back to hotel late one evening to find the door to my room had been left open by cleaning staff. Fortunately no valuables were left in the room.

Very basic DIY project obviously but effort made… no pictures or finery at all. Very stark. Had problems with key twice, couldn’t get into property at end of the night but couldn’t . No compensation offered then, just a pack lunch to take away from the manager.

The only thing we liked was the location.

Everything. Having read previous comments I just wish I had read them before booking the Hotel. We were in room 2 in the Annex. On arrival there were dirty pillows which needed to be replaced. There were no pillow protectors on the pillows. The room was not clean. The shower curtain was filthy and wasn't hung properly. Obviously set up as a twin room which meant the headboards didn't match with a double bed which was 2 cobbled together and very uncomfortable. Only one bedside cabinet. Lampshade hanging loose and touching the bulb which constitutes a fire hazard. And lastly but not least no cold water! On complaining we were put in room 8 within the Annex It was slightly better but had faults. Large crack on top of cistern. No plug in the sink. K Handle hanging off on shower door. Television wouldn't work. We complained at Breakfast time and were told it would be fixed by time we came back at night but it didn't happen! I complained at Breakfast time and asked why it hadn't been fixed and was made all sorts of excuses an Niicola the so called Manager walked away saying she couldn't handle me complaining and walked away and said she had to take 5 !! Not very professional by someone in charge. She also said previously that we would be entitled to a refund for part of our stay but didn't happen!! Honestly I think she just said what you wanted to hear at the time and there was no intention of a refund. I would certainly stay clear of this establishment.

The upgrade to Mansion House Hotel was appreciated
