Mansion House Hotel

Large spotlessly clean room and bathroom with extremely comfortable huge sleigh bed. Great views over the river and easy walking access to the town centre. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and extremely helpful staff. Plenty of parking close to the entrance. Elegant and comfortable public spaces.

Only gripe was in the morning the narrow corridor with two steps was in complete darkness- not ideal for two pensioners! As the rest of the hotel had power, I presumed that this was a trip switch problem and reported it accordingly. An hour later the issue had not been dealt with- much to the consternation of us and the room staff. A minor gripe and certainly it did not spoil an otherwise very comfortable stay.

Found it very quiet and peaceful staff fabulous very helpful and makes you feel very relaxed and welcome great breakfast lovely grounds beautifully comfortable bedroom immaculately clean very good Housekeeping staff can't wait to go back despite no evening restaurant

No evening restaurant and Elgin many shops have closed a lot of empty units very limited restaurants the Granary was closed and when it's open only partial ovens working limited menu great curry houses and a very expensive restaurant but apart from that not much to offer in the way of dining unless you hunt down other hotels that are not too expensive or settle for Burger King KFC McDonald's

Beautiful hotel. Shame it’s mostly closed. Only open for rooms. Don’t say that until you have it booked.

Not very helpful staff. No restaurant for dinner. Bar closed at 9 and not well stocked.
