Great cheap castle like accommodation

Great old classic place awesome 4 poster beds with black out curtains and great breakfast room was a bit dark and shower could have been a bit hotter but walk to town easy friendly staff

Looks great, but soulless and food disappointing

The lounge, dinning room and bedroom were very well decorated!

Dinning - furniture was tired, sound system cheap and nasty scratchy and crackling, music choice was odd. Dinner - no fish, no steaks, no vinegar! Lasagne was a microwave meal! Breakfast - buffet choice was basic. Scrabbled eggs good! Bar - pokey little space. Odd Snooker room - very odd. Soulless

Lovely period building with many comforts but also a few compromises for patrons

Nice hotel near the centre of Elgin. Breakfast was included for us and they had a nice choice of hot foods though the evening meal was a lot less exciting. In the room the duvet was very nice and downy and we also had a sofa to sit on which says something about the size of the room

Unfortunately the room did not have an ensuite bathroom and we had to go across the hall to get to our (private) bathroom. I wouldn't go for that option again.

The main building, reception areas and grounds were beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good.

Disappointingly we were out in the lodge which was down the drive. This building was somewhat lacking although the room itself was warm and comfortable. Just little things were missing like the fire alarm in our room and light shades. Also there were paper signs that looked very tacky. The evening meal was incredibly basic, although edible.

An absolutely beautiful hotel with a real "mansion house" feel. Staff were excellent and meals amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to relax in such a beautiful, peaceful space.

We were really chuffed to just be there, it is a special place and our stay was very comfortable!

Beautiful building, classy decor, plenty of common rooms and space. Snooker table was a hoot, couldn't pot a ball but a bit of fun none the less! Cute wee bar with really good variety of drinks. Young lady on the reception very helpful and friendly. Bed comfortable with lovely crisp bedding. Breakfast delicious and plenty of it! Love the age of the place, so much character!

There was a bit of maintenance/repair needing doing on the exterior woodwork - but then I only notice these things because I'm married to a joiner!

Perfect location, beautiful setting, comfy, well appointed, quiet room.

A very special thank you to Lindsay, who served breakfast. I had gone to Elgin to scatter my brother's ashes and Lindsay supported me, as soon as she knew and encouraged me each morning allowing me to get through the day. Beautiful quiet room in the Lodge, just as I had requested. Many thanks for taking my situation into consideration. Well appointed room, huge comfy bed, room temperature was like home. Cleaned each day with fresh towels. Kitchen facilities were excellent, so I could stay as private as I needed to. Perfect. Many thanks.

My room was very beautiful. Honestly, after reading some reviews before booking, I thought I might be disappointed, but once I arrived, everything changed. The hotel ambiance was awesome, and the people at the front desk were very helpful — especially the manager, who was excellent. The rooms were very clean, and the dinner experience was just wow! 🤩 I really enjoyed my meal — the king prawns and lamb shank were absolutely amazing, prepared by Chef Priyanka. She did a fantastic job. At the bar, Iona was also wonderful — so kind and welcoming. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

One small area that could be improved is the entrance carpet. It’s quite old and feels like a slip hazard, so updating it would make the hotel even better.

Nice location with good food but accessibility aspects need improvement.

Breakfast was very good and the member of staff serving lovely. Location and parking is good The receptionist and hotel manager were flexible and enabled us to change room due to accessibility. Unfortunately the replacement room was a significant disappointment.

The hotel is not particularly accessible friendly - everywhere had steps/ stairs. Initial room was beautiful but unable to be used as the bath too high to climb into and bed was accessed by three or four steps. The swimming pool was not available, which you were only informed about after booking

Beautiful old baronial style building by a river. Lovely interiors with lots of old antiques Lovely big room and four poster bed! Beautiful ironed bed linen. Super clean. Excellent breakfast

Bar stock was dissappointing. I was served a horrible, sweet rose (from a single plastic bottle serving)- a bit like an alcopop. And the red wine had been open too long and was acidic. Given the location in the Speyside area, I imagine the customers have high expectations on the drinks front.

Bad hotel

We got an overheated room ( room 24) at the very back of the hotel. The walls are so thin, you hear all the washing and splashing of your neighbour. Very unfortunate when they decide to take a bath at 0445. There is a pump in the hotel that makes a terrible racket and wakes you up every 4 hours. That is at 2200, at 0200 and again at 0600. To avoid !
