Sinhagiri Villa

Although we were staying in Sinhagiri Villa everything is based in the larger Green Hut Resort next door which the family also own. This felt a little odd at first but did mean our room was wonderfully quiet with a nice balcony area. Our family room was snug but the space had been used well and it was clean. The bathroom was basic but clean with a good shower. There was no fridge in the room but there was a small shared one between the rooms on the upper floor. The restaurant exceeded our expectations and they were brilliant at adapting the menu to suit our son’s allergy with both local and western options. We really enjoyed the curries and loved talking to the owner about what she had cooked that day. They also had great coffee! The pool was nice but they were in the middle of a building project when we were there which made the pool area feel a little unloved. When the new rooms are finished it will probably be lovely again. We booked an elephant safari with them which was well organised with a great driver. The other highlight is the huge rock a short walk beyond their property which was the perfect place to watch the sunset on Sigiriya Rock. The location is little outside the centre but within a few minutes walk of a small temple and the locals entrance to Sigiriya where we did some great value souvenir shopping. The overall feeling here is very relaxed. The staff team are very lovely and their years of experience really shows in their customer service.

Although there was no noise from the building works it did make the garden area less appealing. However this won’t last for long.

Sehr nettes und aufmerksames Personal. Gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Schöner Pool. Ruhig gelegen. Gutes Frühstück und Essen. Empfehlung: Rice + Curry!

Kein WLAN auf dem Zimmer. Etwas weg vom Zentrum, aber dafür ruhig.

The location was perfect for our stay. The food was delicious and the staff were so lovely and friendly. The grounds were very peaceful and the pool area was lovely too.

the owners were restarting after a while due to the pandemic so a few things didn't work - wifi wasn't connected in the room, the sheets were a bit musty. Night time, it wasn't easy to get to the property from the busy area.
