Vihanga Village - Jungle retreat in Dambulla

Perfect location! Secluded in nature and still close to town. The room was like a cabin and had plenty of space for all my stuff. I enjoyed the outdoor bathroom. It was safe and beautiful. There are monkeys that may climb through while you are out there. They did not bother me at all. The pictures I shared are screen shots from a video I took, so they are not the best. The space is very nice!

This was a really nice escape from the usual busy city life. Surrounded by greenery, it’s perfect if you just want to slow down, stay offline, and relax. One of the best parts of the stay was definitely the food. The village-style Sri Lankan meals were spot on, freshly made, full of flavor, and really felt like proper home-cooked food. Honestly, it was one of the highlights of the whole experience. Waking up to birds chirping and fresh air in the morning was another thing I really enjoyed. Vihanga, the host, was very friendly and helpful. He took us to some hidden spots nearby, a nice river for a refreshing bath, walks through lush paddy fields, and a beautiful sunset view. Those little experiences made the trip even more special. It’s not a luxury place, but that’s not what you go there for. It’s all about peace, nature, and a simple nature experience. For the price, it’s budget-friendly and definitely worth it.

The natural ambience was excellent, a proper place to take off your mind and attain some peacefulness. The name itself reflects the beauty of it all, The jungle retreat it is. Apart from the mindfulness and comfort, the food is through the roof, all flavored perfectly balanced. Staff and management is so cooperative at all times, i would definitely go there again in my next vacation to dambulla. Highly recommended 100%
