Shan Mango Homestay

Our hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome in their beautiful home. We enjoyed the pool, delicious breakfast, comfortable beds and beautiful surroundings. It was our favourite accommodation throughout our 3 week stay in Sri Lanka.

Nothing

Truly exceptional stay at the Shan Mango Homestay from start to finish. One of our favourite stays in Sri Lanka. Staff are so helpful and will book and arrange transport and activities. Breakfast is excellent. Rooms are large and very clean. Would recommend booking the villa with Private Pool. Couldn’t ask for more!

Potentially if you want to walk everywhere this could be difficult as after dark you need to Tuktuk due to Elephants.

Fabulous pool area, very pretty property with lots of wildlife and beautifully maintained gardens. Rooms very spacious and clean. Best showers so far! Great traditional breakfasts, and owners very sweet and helpful. Very good location for Sigirya Rock, making the pre-dawn rise much easier!

A blanket over the bed as an option would have been awesome, but it’s such a minor request… Make sure you have insect spray for the evenings if sitting outside. It’s an easy walk to the main street, however best to remember it is a fairly regional area. For more extensive restaurant/bar options, definitely catch a tuk tuk or car onto nearby Danbulla.

We had a wonderful stay here and would definitely recommend it! 🤍 The host was incredibly kind and welcoming, and every morning he prepared a different local breakfast for us - everything was absolutely delicious and a lovely way to experience Sri Lankan food. He also put us in touch with a great tuk-tuk driver who offered very good prices and made getting around Sigiriya super easy. Overall, a lovely experience with great hospitality, delicious food, and a very welcoming atmosphere. We would happily stay here again!

Everything was amazing!
