The hotel location is fantastic, very central in the old part of Zurich. The bed was comfortable.

The hotel is positioned as boutique but it doesn't meet that criteria. There was noise late at night. The rooms were small given the cost of the hotel.

good location but only very basic accommodation

Location is a big plus (especially during winter, when access to Lake Zurich is not that important) it is a small boutique hotel and breakfast options are limited but quality and selection is good, staff is friendly and helpful

the building is old, but furniture is even older. there are no further services except a small room with a bed and basics the room looks very different from the photos and descriptions. Whole place it is rather basic and price/value is not in line...

We Never had the breakfast there, but the stay was awesome! All the staff was extremely helpful and beyond kindness (I feel bad for monopolizing their time). We will be coming back in a few years with some extra people. Hope to see familiar faces!

Clean, quiet if you kept window closed, good location, great for just one night.

Great for our one night stay

The Platzhirsch is very centrally located. It was an easy walk from the train station and there are a lot of great restaurants near by to choose from. We were in Zurich attending an event and it was a very good for our one night stay.

The location is excellent, the reception staff extremely helpful and the sushi amazing

The room albeit a superior king at a very high cost was extremely small. The air conditioning unit was at the side of the bed so my husband was cold all night as the air hit him side on, there was no circulation in the room because of this positioning so I was so hot I barely slept for the duration of our stay. If this was a superior king I dread to think what a smaller room was like.

Pleasant stay in central Zurich.

Central location with restaurants and shops at and immediately around the hotel. It is also walkable to some attractions like the Grossmunster and Kunsthaus as well as to a large Coop. Short tram ride to central train station. Hotel has a lift which is good for luggage. You can deposit your luggage at the small reception if you arrive early. Very friendly and helpful staff!

Air-conditioning unit is positioned right next to, and at the same level of the bed, so it can get quite cold while sleeping - minor issue.

Great location, In the old city. Perfect location for a gay traveler. The room is clean and I slept very well without any noise bothering me. The girls in the reception were really helpful and nice.

The room is really small. The bathroom is extra small and not really convenient. The water from the shower leak. The room i was staying in is suitable for one person only.

Disappointed

Location was very good

Our stay at this property has been extremely disappointing. For four consecutive days, our room was not cleaned despite repeated assurances from the front desk. When we pointed this out to the reception staff, they apologized profusely and promised that housekeeping would attend to it, but nothing was done. Each day we returned to find the room in the same state — completely uncleaned. Basic hotel standards were entirely absent. Towels were only provided when we specifically pushed and followed up, but other essentials were not addressed. The dustbin was never cleared, no amenities were replenished, and the bed linen was not changed even once throughout our stay. It is shocking that a property claiming to offer hospitality could show such complete indifference to basic guest comfort and hygiene. This was not an isolated lapse but a consistent pattern of negligence over several days. While the property might seem attractive at first glance, the experience was completely overshadowed by the appalling lack of service. I would strongly advise future guests to think carefully before booking this property if they expect even the minimum standards of cleanliness, attention, and basic hospitality.

There wasn't reception staff after 5 pm on the days we were there which was tricky because we needed someone there to receive our luggage which didn't arrive with our flight. As we were on a tour we were stressing we wouldn't be back before 5pm to receive our suitcases.
