Wonderful location and staff

Hotel location was perfect, staff were wonderful and the breakfast was great.

The sitting chairs in the room were far too low to the ground and as a 62 year old with knee problems, I didn't dare sit in one, my husband did and he found it very difficult to get up from too.

An enjoyable stay

The rooms were lovely and the shower was the best one I’ve ever had. Good size and plenty of shelving in the bathrooms. About a 10min walk to the train station and close to the bus port for any bus tours taken

Pleasant stay in the middle of Zurich

We stayed here 3 years ago, and there’s been such an upgrade to the rooms, modern, clean, great shower. Loved the hotel lounge, allowing me to chill to Netflix while my husband did bedtime with our toddler, and even enjoy a bottle of wine and chat with family. The staff are friendly. The location is great. Only 10 min walk to Old Town.

It could quite warm and stuffy in the rooms but we opened the windows to allow some air in the rooms. The room we were in was a lot smaller to the one we had last time, but I think adding a cot made it feel smaller. The smoke smell you get in the evenings is not nice though coming from the bar attached. It lingers through the lounge, so when we tried to keep the door closed to remove the smell, one of the staff kept coming and opening it. It wasn’t entirely pleasant, so beware if you don’t like smoke.

Its a beautiful hotel in a old town of Zurich. Clean, spacious rooms nice welcoming staff. Everything was perfect.

There was nothing not to like although the breakfast buffet could had a bit more of various options rather than the same thing but other than that everything was really good and enjoyable.

Fantastic location, close to major tourist attractions. Staff were welcoming and helpful. The lady in the breakfast room was amazing, being a small hotel, she knows almost all guests, and have great conversations with them. Very friendly.

The sofa bed for our children were not comfortable at all, also makes squeezing sound when they turn. The mattress on it is so thin. Being a high quality hotel, could spend some on upgrading this part… The bathroom is very very small.

Great Location

Ideal location for the old town and all Christmas markets. Good size room overall. Close to trams and Zurich main station.

Breakfast varied and buffet style.But if you wanted a fried egg it was chargeable. However if you wanted a soft boiled egg it wasn't. I found this strange indeed 😂. The bathroom was very small and seemed like a re vamp was needed. The shower leaked onto the main floor. And the door into the bathroom was water damaged at the bottom.

Nice but a little disappointing

The room we were given was not as advertised! It was run down with broken units / bathroom accessories and visible cracks in the walls and ceiling. Disappointed as we were celebrating a special occasion.

Spacious room, good breakfast, festive related - Christmas market right outside the hotel

The bed and pillows are too soft, shower head is unable to hook properly. Location is not the best, 10min walk to Zurich HB station and 15min walk to Old town. Restaurants and shops are within reach.

Absolutely loved the staff and location. The staff was so helpful with directions and recommendations. The location was so convenient to everything we wanted to do and see. Breakfast options were plentiful.

The only real advantage is the location, everything else falls short of expectations

The location is perfect — right in the city center with plenty of cafés and restaurants just in front of the hotel.

Access to the hotel isn’t easy if you have luggage, and the building feels quite old. We booked a room with air conditioning but were first given a very small room, completely different from the photos and without A/C. After speaking with reception, we were moved to a better room that matched the pictures more closely, but it was still small and had a portable noisy A/C. that stopped working during the night. Staff had to come and empty the water for it to work again. Breakfast was very average, with limited options and basic items, and there was a long wait for cooked dishes. For the price paid, it should have been much better.

The room and bathroom were tiny. With 3 adults sharing the room, one of us ended up on a sofa bed that was one metre from the other bed. The sofa bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom was very dated.

Conveniently located hotel with big rooms

The hotel is located in the center of Old Town and there are many restaurants and shops around, it is from walkable distance from Zurich main station. Breakfast was included and had various choices available, rooms were big.

Somehow our TV did not have a remote and so had to control on the TV, rooms did not have aircon so was slightly warm during the night. Bathroom were clean but the heated towel rails were quite dusty and a bit rusty. The room where we had breakfast was a bit small.

There was no way to regulate the room temperature. It was a little hot for our tastes with a radiator that was constantly running with no way to turn it off. We kept our window open the entire stay.

Very pleasant

the location is very accessible to the city and the things we wanted to do. We parked the car and took city transport when needed. Mostly walked. The room was a good size and very clean and the breakfast had everything I wanted and was really good.

Parking. We were able to unload and load directly in front of the hotel but you have to park in a structure a coupla blocks away but it was easy to access and not unusual for Switzerland.

Still a charming spot in the heart of Zurich, with a location that’s hard to beat

We first stayed at Hotel Wellenberg four years ago and were impressed by the unbeatable location, welcoming staff, and delicious breakfast. Returning on September 26th, 2025, we were once again drawn to its charm and central setting.

The property is beginning to show its age and could benefit from some thoughtful updates to maintain its appeal.

Lovely hotel, brilliant location, excellent breakfast. Would stay again but request different room!

Location was great. Breakfast was very good. The hotel was very clean and there was a library room to relax in. All hotel staff were really friendly and helpful.

Our room had windows onto a communal seating area. One of them was mirrored but one wasn't, so people sitting outside could see into our room and it meant we had to either have the curtains closed or the shutters down whilst we were in the room which lacked privacy and made us quite uncomfortable. It also made it very dark when trying to get ready in the mornings. The room was quite warm and we like fresh air but again having the windows open was not an option due to the lack of privacy. There was an aircon unit to use to cool the room down, but it was so near to the bed that it made it quite awkward to use. The other people we were with that stayed there didn't overlook the seating area and they had no issues.

Great hotel with every way. This is my third time staying here and I'd stay again.

Spacious, clean, well equipped room with a comfortable bed. Nice first floor library room with free Nespresso coffee all day. Excellent breakfast. Lovely outdoor seating off the breakfast room. Just perfect.

Would have preferred a walk-in shower over a deep bathtub but the water pressure was great and the hot water was plentiful.

Stylish Boutique Hotel in Zurich’s old town

We stayed in the Tower Suite, which had lots of space, was quiet, clean and comfortable. Great room in a central location of Zurich’s old town. Excellent bathrooms and shower.
