On balance a good stay with a well designed flat

The property had good stable WiFi (we used it to work from home for a day). The rainfall shower was nice, and the bathroom (albeit small) was well designed. The kitchen was well stocked with herbs and spices, tea bags, instant coffee, dishwashing liquid, sponges, utensils etc. The bed was comfortable, heating system was good and easy to control. There were some shower products available at the property, hand soap and towels were also provided as well as Toilet Roll

The property has received some harsh reviews (in my opinion) about doors that don’t close which isn’t necessarily true and doesn’t really matter (they are all internal doors) and other minor points. The property is located in a communal block and the front door (to the street) does slam despite notices on the doors which can be heard in the flat. There are double glazed windows to the rear but the main road can still be heard, the sofa bed in the front room is adequate and I understand why it’s there to provide additional capacity however it is slightly uncomfortable. On balance, I think 8/10 is fair and I think for the price point it was a good stay.

DONT STAY IN THIS PLACE !!!!

We didn’t enjoy the stay. The rooms were dirty, lots of hair on the floor. Nobody could take a shower there. It‘s simply impossible!!!!!! It is not a bathroom. It’s a wooden coffin not much bigger. To wipe yourself on the toilet you have to get up because there is no place next to you. Stains on the couch and on the bed sheets in both rooms. As well as dirty or wet stains on the ceiling. Really loud noises in the room next to the living room. ALL night. It sounded like rats scratching on the wall. The same in the sleeping room. ALL night the radiator makes noises like water is flowing. No way that somebody from us could sleep. 😡 Heater didn’t work at times. In the kitchen the faucet is broken. I don’t know how you got such good reviews, it‘s not worth the money. We will be happy to leave the place and we definitely won’t come back. So many unopened letters in the kitchen drawer with so many different names on it. We will NOT recommend this place to anybody. We try to contact the person who send us emails but we didn’t get any answers.

The kitchen was very clean and well equipped. The location was close to the tram.

The entrance hall into the apartment was very run down and grubby. The bathroom was tiny. The bed was very creaky. We didn't receive any response to our query regarding WiFi.

Noisy neighbours

The apartment is clean, bright and airy.

There is a problem with very noisy neighbours. We stayed on Tuesday and Wed nights. On Tuesday evening, we noticed a small note in the kitchen, requesting that we contact the police directly about any noise. We thought that was odd. Later that night, we were awake for hours while very disruptive neighbours, in the same building, slammed doors and seemed to try to barge a door down. It wasn't a party, and we felt concerned about whatever was going on. When I told the host the next morning, he said there was nothing they could do, and that the police had left the note in the flat. Clearly, from the other reviews, not everyone has this experience, but unfortunately we did, on one of our two nights.

Gig at Murrayfield

Nothing. We had booked it for the proximity for a gig at Murrayfield Stadium.

Now the negatives. The bed was broken and bodged back together with a plank & plywood, which caused it to squeak - and I mean S Q U E A K ! - very loudly whenever you rolled over, which meant sleeping in it was impossible, so we had to resort to putting the Mattress on the floor to try and get some sleep, unfortunately this proved impossible as the neighbours were the noisiest people in Edinburgh & thoroughly enjoyed shouting, swearing, slamming doors and running up and down the stairs until 5am. The double glazing was less soundproof than cling film, making it feel like the flat was on the M62. The bathroom was like a cupboard, a very small cupboard, and fitted out with all wood. Now this may have been to make it have a Swedish sauna like feel, but wood & water don’t mix well, so the shower cranny - it was too small to be a nook or a cubicle - was covered in black mould. None of the doors actually fit in the frames so I’m not sure which property they were made for, but it wasn’t this one. We left the flat a day early & booked into a hotel as we couldn’t stay there any longer. The owner said please message us with any issues, which we did and heard - you’ve guessed it - absolutely nothing from them. An awful place all round, avoid at all costs.

the kitchen was equipped with spices and tea and coffee and the shower even had shampoo and conditioner. The pressure on the shower was great too. the best part has got to be the smart tv.

Great time but some improvements could be made

the flat was modern and clean, the location was good, however still quite a trek so we used Uber as the weather wasn’t great. Lovely restaurants on the doorstep with Is fab.

Unfortunately the outside of the property leading up wasn’t in the best condition and once we arrived although booked for 4 there was only one set of bedding made up for the main bed. we had to search for the second set of bedding and make it up ourselves which we would not have expected to do for the money we paid!

Lovely, clean place with great location. Walkable distance (Pending your speed about +-20 minutes) to city centre. Hosts were nice and checked on us to make sure everything okay.

Furniture is a little dated. Bed was broken and fixed with a plank which made us uncomfortable to sleep on, so we slept on sofa bed instead. Only con - bathroom was quite small and narrow.

A deeply relaxing place to unwind when passing through Edinburgh.

Maybe include a few more tea bags, some real coffee for the cafetiere, milk to get started on arrival and a bit more hand wash in the bathroom - also maybe a bedroom rug and window cleaning. These are really small points in the scheme of things though. Your flat is lovely.

The apartment is in an okay location although next to a busy street, the main bed is very comfortable and the flat is spacious and has a decent aesthetic

We were disappointed with the hospitality of the hosts of this apartment. We received check-in instructions exactly at 3pm, the apartment had not been cleaned from previous guests. The host was very responsive and did resolve the situation by having the house cleaned. When asked for compensation the explanation was that the cleaners were busy this summer and it was a mistake. I understand that mistakes happen but it would be nice to see an effort to make up for the stress caused after long travel. I wasn’t expecting a full refund, however any form of compensation like welcome snacks would make a difference, instead we were lacking 3rd towel, shower gel and had to put on duvet covers for the sofa bed ourselves and the sheet was too small. Please be aware there is a note in the flat kindly asking you to take out the rubbish, take off the duvet covers and wash the dishes. We usually do It without asking, however it doesn’t sit right to read it after paying cleaning fees. The doors in the apartment don’t shut, there is iron but no ironing board.

Well equipped appartment with shocking details (cockroach)

The appartment is well equipped, the kitchen is modern and functional. Also it is nice to have some coffee and tea for breakfast.

We were shocked to see a cockroach in the bathroom. This is an alarming sign for the hygienic conditions, although the appartment itself seemed to be rather clean. Probably it is due to the extremely shabby and filthy stairways of the building. We didn't like so much the area, next time we would choose a different quarter.

Superb

Apartment tastefully decorated. Best thing was the bed, it was super comfy. About 10 minute walk from the castle. Lots of places to eat and drink nearby.

No patio as listed in description, or bath, which was also listed....could have done with one after all the walking we did. I got a skelf on the wooden floor, bring slippers! Remember to buy milk and cereal too. There is a co op at the end of the street. Was still a great stay.

The bed was so comfy and everything was thought about like in the kitchen and the bedroom. The communication from the owners was amazing and they even let us check in early!

We walked into the building there were food wrappers on the floor empty beer cans and a bike. When we got into the room we were massively disappointed that there was no bath. There is on the pictures and it's the only reason we went for an apartment over a hotel. It would have been perfect apart from that it's just a shame that's the only reason we went there and were let down. There were alot of hairs in the bathroom too which was a shame.

The apartment is located between Haymarket and Fountain Park which makes travelling to the town centre really easy. The apartment is well decorated and has all the facilities as described. The hosts where very helpful.

The flat is well located, excellent transport links and five minutes away from Haymarket station. Good restaurants, pizzerias and take always nearby too. The flat has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. We loved it!

Comfortable place in a great area

I spent my 10 days of self-isolation at the apartment and I chose a nice spot for these days. It is very comfortable, easy to reach and has all the amenities one need, the kitchen is great and even has some spices, which is always a plus. The bed is super comfortable and helped to make the time go by faster. There is a huge tree in front of the windows which was also very nice. The area seems super fun, I definitely have to come back to explore it, this time I didn´t see much.

Great location, spotless apartment

The location was really good - easy to get to both from the city centre and the airport. The apartmement was spotless, nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped and the hosts kindly left cereal, tea and coffee for us. Check in and check out was super easy!

There is a fairly busy road out the back of the building which is quite noisy at night.
