No heating in a cold night.

Location is excellent, 5 minutes walk to town centre. Free parking on site, and can leave the car there until late of the check-out day. Shared kitchen with good facilities. Clean. Quiet.

No heating. Bed can be a bit more supportive. Stayed in the Perry room, the radiators didn't work. Phoned the out-off time number, was told to turn up the thermostat to the max in the corridor which I did. The thermostats on the radiators were on max also. But no heating at all with outside temperature at about 6 oC. Felt chilly during the night. Then the room got very hot at about 7am (the heating became on, and because the thermostats were all on the max). From chill to hot in a short period (room is very small, it took no time to heat up) made me so uncomfortable. Told the reception staff about the whole experience in the morning. Her response was that as if I have done something wrong (e.g. did you turn the thermostat up?), no sympathy or apology. I had to repeat my experience twice till she agreed to check the heating system. Not a very nice experience.

I’d charged my car up at the main car park in town, popped back to collect my bags in the morning and got a £100 fine! We stopped for 34 minutes, dropped off the keys etc and collected bags. Dreadful behaviour! Avoid.

Other guests came back late night making a lot of noise because the centre is unstaffed in the evening. It was very difficult to do anything about it.

Lovely hostel would definitely come back again.

They provided eco products, provided towels, lots of tea bags, coffee, biscuits etc. lovely little garden if u wanted to sit outside. Great kitchen. Overall fantastic place. Also they had free parking.

It was excellent and perfect for our needs.

Staff went out of their way to accommodate us. We were a group of cyclists and arrived very late on Friday. Pippa ensured that we had access to our rooms. We could also use the kitchen after we had to check out on Sunday to make lunch which helped us enormously since we travelled with a small child. All in all, it was a fantastic stay. We will be back.

Excellent good value accommodation,

Perfectly adequate clean room, with kettle, tea bags etc. , nice clean white towels and bed linen. It was a bonus to find we could use the kitchen to prepare our own meals (in fact we didnt but might another time), and we appreciated the folding table and chairs . Good location only 15 minutes walk to the centre, or down to the peaceful river in the opposite direction. We also enjoyed the courtyard as a nice place to sit and recover from too much walking around exploring! Very convenient having the Greek Taverna next door. Best of all - friendly welcome from staff.

The room was a tight squeeze, requiring planning (eg where to put suitcases if wanting to put up the folding table and chairs to eat our breakfast). Beds with storage underneath would have been a good idea. A beaker or two n the bathroom would have been nice, and the spring on the basin outflow was unreliable - you may need to get someone to fix it. Also a non-slip mat in the shower - I so nearly lost my footing.

a great, no frills place to stay in Ludlow

clean, quiet and safe. an easy walk from the centre. I also really appreciated there was a lift (unusual in rural, old buildings). the staff was very helpful too.

there was not enough room to comfortably lay open both suitcases and our bed wasn’t the most comfortable but everything was immaculate and the location was great. we would stay there again and recommend it.

Good basic accommodation in a very good location. Kitchen facilities are useful if you arrive after the local restaurants close (Which is quite early!) It has a decent car park and the car feels safe there.

They seem to have put the price up and reduced the quality of the coffee and in-room supplies, which is a shame. The Taylors coffee looks to have been replaced by instant sachets and the soap and shampoo etc is now in fiddley little sachets in plastic bags. These are very basic rooms with small beds, and a slightly tired décor/ housekeeping standard in some rooms and I forgive it that because it is cheap, the people are friendly and you get a decent coffee in the room. This time it was stretching those assumptions

Okay but would want to check the size of the bed before (possibly) staying again. Slept badly.

Reasonably budget-priced room but only relative to "on-the-day" pricing at (say) Travelodge. More expensive than a "booked-well-ahead-of-time" Travelodge/Premier Inn. But perhaps that's unfair as July/August tend to be more in-demand.

The room (a single room) was about 1.9metres wide x 2.8m long with a bed shoe-horned across the width of the room. Being rather tall I was unable to lie flat on the bed almost to the point of feeling claustrophobic and slept very badly. Noisy group of girls shreeking until fairly late outside in the courtyard.

Lovely little gem, should we be attending other events , I wouldn’t hesitate to rebook

It was so easy to get to our concert venue, the staff were really lovely, we were able to check in early , the parking was free and we were able to leave the car the following day until 5pm. The room was small but perfectly adequate for one night and it was spotless, beds were comfy , if you’re stopping longer there is a fully equipped kitchen.

Only downer was the shower tray, shower was perfectly fine however the tray was exceptionally slippy, you have to be quite careful
