Really enjoyed Ludlow and our host Paul made us feel very welcome and was a good source of information about places to go to and what to avoid. He is a character, full of amusing stories. We were there 2 nights over the weekend and had a lovely meal in The Queens on the Friday (having booked a few days before). We had nothing booked for the Saturday and found it more difficult but ended up in a nice pizza place called Source. The church and its cafe are well worth a visit, unfortunately the castle was closed due to high winds. The pub up the road (The Old Road Tavern) has music on Friday nights which was good and we also enjoyed a visit to the Ludlow Brewery. A fridge in the room was helpful as was the use of the lounge to watch a film on Netflix or DVD. The bed was very comfy and the continental breakfast was very good. Parking is not right beside the property but its only a 5 minute walk to a large reasonably priced car park (£3.20 for the day).

Very comfy bed. Great location. Good value for money.
Unfortunately room was not clean, bathroom sink full of coffee grounds/shavings? Toilet dirty, carpet covered in dust and coffee facilities not cleaned since previous occupant. Bed, however was immaculate. No lock on room door.

This was the most bonkers, quirky place to have stayed. Paul was just the most interesting person to converse with, though a little eccentric. NOTE: he can accommodate dspecial dietary requirements, if asked for in advance
Ludlow has lost many of its pubs, thus the evenings can be somewhat quiet

Me and my mom stayed for one night at the Green Dragon, to go to Ludlow food festival. We come every year and this year decided to stay over and make a trip of it. I wanted to find somewhere unique with a home from home feeling which is exactly what I got! The place was so quirky and unique, and was lovely to learn from Paul the history of the place (previously being a pub). As a history fanatic, this made it even better for me! Perfect location in the town centre close to everything!
Paul was a wonderful host, great communication before going to Ludlow about parking etc as my mom has a walking stick and finds it difficult walking far. Paul was great at recommending the nearest car park and accommodating my mom. We were even able to drop our bags off and check in earlier! The bed was super comfy! And breakfast was lovely, with a lovely conversation with Paul.
As for Ludlow, what a lovely town. I love the history and just walking around the streets looking at all the beautiful old buildings! Also Ludlow food festival is a lovely day out! We had food at The Queens which was fantastic too!
Overall, a lovely brief stay in a beautiful town in a lovely B&B. Thanks Paul :)
Nothing - was great! Especially for the price!

The best part of our stay was meeting our host Paul. Paul is a very genuine, quirky, honest guy with a real interest in people and doing his best to help wherever he can. Our stay was very relaxed, Paul made every effort to make us feel comfortable and 'at home'. We accepted Paul's invitation to join his charity 'Cheese Evening' and had a wonderful time meeting many of his friends. Wherever we went during the rest of our stay we would cross paths with those friends and have a chat or a beer, it felt like we were part of a community...quite special!
Breakfast was continental style with a good variety of cereals and pastries and lovely coffee. We have been to Ludlow a couple of times before, its a lovely town, great castle, interesting buildings, beautiful riverside and cheap parking. There are plenty of lovely shops, pubs and eateries, plus open air market several days a week. Standout food for us, tapas at the Angel, Broad St and gorgeous lunches at Kin Kitchen Old street.
Ha...the weather!

Within walking distance of everything in Ludlow, Paul, our host was a breath of fresh air and he provided us with a lovely breakfast in a heritage listed, quirky old home. the Church Inn was the perfect pub to go to for a good vegetarian meal each night.

Very Central, Comfortable, Breakfast was a bonus we didn’t expect as was the fine examples of decoration throughout the house we absolutely loved our stay . The Race course and the Brewery are well worth a visit and the Town is full of independent shops and eateries Brilliant

Excellent breakfast, provided gluten free options, just let the host know before you arrive about dietary needs. Paul is a very convivial host, full of knowledge about Ludlow and a very interesting conversationalist. A 5 minute walk into the town. Recommend The Queens for exceptional food and service, best to book, ask Paul for directions. Overall a most enjoyable stay.
Nothing not to like

A unique B&B. The place has everything you need, supported by a host that cares. The photos sum up what the place is about! More genuine (and a lot cheaper) than The Feathers.
Not much.

If you like quirky then this venue is for you! Our host Paul's motto is, "it's B&B Jim, but not as we know it!" We found him to be very welcoming and a fount of local knowledge, including where to park! The Green Dragon is very close to the town centre and handy for all of Ludlow's amenities and historical sites. There are a number of very good pubs, eateries and takeaways within easy walking distance, all of which serve good food at reasonable prices. The room and en-suite shower were clean and the bed comfortable.
We couldn't honestly recommend this venue to guests with any physical disabilities as the staircase to the room on the first floor is both narrow and steep, which is only to be expected bearing in mind the building's 14th century origins.

Location was perfect, right in the town centre for exploring round and visiting pubs and restaurants on foot. The road it’s on was not too busy for parking and we didn’t notice noise from passing traffic.
Paul was an excellent host, very welcoming and making us feel at home. He offered lots of advice thanks to his extensive local knowledge.
The breakfast was more than adequate, in fact the poached eggs were perfect.
There was nothing we didn’t like.

Paul couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. He made us feel very welcome and made it a home away from home. The bed was very comfy, better than our one at home. The bathroom was huge which was great. There were a bunch of different toiletries that we could use. I love how you just use what you want which is sustainable rather than having everything individually package which is terrible for the environment. Parking was a breeze. You can park for free across the road over the weekend. Ludlow is a very small town so you can leave you vehicle and explore everything on foot. Paul loves a good chat and is very knowledgeable about the whole area. Breakfast was perfect, you can choose whatever you want the night before. Also, special mention for the bed. I am 6ft 7 and the bed was the perfect size. You don't often get that luxury.
It was a little noisy with the traffic but at the end of the day, this in a town and not the countryside. The traffic is only during the day and evening and dies away while you are sleeping so its really not that much of a big deal.

Amazing hosts, Suzie was amazing home baked pastries and proper coffee. Met Paul on the last day as he was away, great guy, many laughs over breakfast. When we come back to Ludlow this is where we will stay, beats any place we have been.
Thanks so much, Allan & Amanda.
