Our stay in Chamodya Homestay was flawless - after long travel from east coast we were greeted with tea and breathtaking view from our room :) The family running this place truly makes you feel like at home. They offer lots of advice on things to do around Ella and also have a tuk-tuk in case you need a lift. Breakfasts are very big and nutritious - I already miss the avocado toasts and coconut pancakes! Our room was spacious, beds were comfortable, there was also a fridge. The location is convenient - about 7min walking if you follow train tracks (it’s safe as trains don’t run often, no worries). Ella main street can get busy and this location was close enough to main tourist attractions but at the same time far enough from the noisy street. Instead, Chamodya offers relaxation, stunning views of the surrounding hills and contact with nature. We’ve stayed for 4 nights but I would love to stay longer!
PS. if you’re a cat person, you might have this little orange gentleman visiting you - please give him some love as he’s absolutely adorable!

We had a wonderful 3 night stay here. One of the nicest things about our visit to Sri Lanka has been the family run guest houses we’ve stayed in and this was no exception. Very warm and friendly family who helped us organise all our activities and transfers. The view from the balcony is stunning and the breakfast is very generous and delicious. Great location - far enough away from Ella centre to reduce the noise but still walkable distance along the railway track (or a tuk tuk ride if you prefer)

Really nice stay. Beautiful views. Kind and welcoming hosts with a big breakfast in the AM!
The floors got wet from the fridge unit dripping and I nearly slipped and fell a few times. No AC as advertised but was OK. A little walk from town but I enjoyed the exercise!

Loved our stay here. The view from the property is gorgeous. Nice big rooms and a great breakfast every morning. Close to Ella whilst also getting lovely views. Would recommend!
