Star Gaze Lodge

The room was very comfortable and modern and we had a private terrace with the most stunning views of the valley. Our host was very nice and they were able to adapt the breakfast gluten free. The location is great as you can walk to Ella's main street easily but you are surrounded by nature. Overall a perfect experience!

We loved the host, she was amazing from start to finish, went above and beyond just being a host! The location was unbelievable, best place I have ever stayed in Sri Lanka and the host was so knowledgeable and gave us lots of plans/ideas to do on our trip!

NOTHING

Simply wonderful homestay with amazing hosts! And great location- very central and still away from the crowds.

Nothing

The location was great, and the host was nice when we met her she gave us plenty of options for things to do in Ella.

We stayed here while backpacking, and the experience was really disappointing. The room was tiny barely enough space for our bags and in rough shape, with cracks in the walls and a broken, wobbly toilet seat. No one came to clean or offer housekeeping on our second day either. On top of that, management was super unprofessional. Before check-in, I asked the host to arrange a scooter and was charged ₹3,000, only to find a sign in the room listing the rate at ₹2,500. Returning the keys was a hassle since the caretaker vanished and I had to message the host repeatedly. When we checked out in the morning, nobody was around to help with bags or check us out. We made it work as backpackers, but the lack of upkeep, and absent service make it hard to recommend.
