Beautiful location with some very nice places to eat near by.
The room was comfortable and the bathroom lighting was fantastic {motion sensors and the back lit mirror}
Very short distance to Stonehenge too.

When I arrived and entered the room found that the light bulb just inside the door wasn't working. When I asked for a new light bulb to be put in I was told that the hotel was being rewired. The bathroom light was at floor level, the towel rail would have fallen off the wall had metal brackets not been used to hold it up. The bath taps were indescribably filthy.
There was no internet and the normal TV kept pixelating. When I tried to access other channels. A password had to be entered. I went and asked the staff to be told that the password could have been changed by a guest. The remote control has the word, 'Reception' sellotaped to the back of it. So, no internet and no TV.
The following morning I woke up to find I had been bitten by fleas or (hopefully not) bed bugs. I always strip the bed to ensure that clean sheets are put on the bed. The mattresses are covered, on both sides, with yellow stains. The kettle has to be plugged into a socket at floor level to be used.
There is a hole in the ceiling that could /appears to have been caused by a leak? The window is a sash window and the sashes have broken because it was being held open with a piece of wood wedged under it.
The corridor outside is in darkness and a health and safety hazard.
Please may I suggest that you look om Trust Pilot because the list of negative comments are endless.
I spoke to the manager several times about issues to do with the room. The response was unhelpful and uncaring. I witnessed another guest complaining about their room (complaint echoing this is also on Trust Pilot I read this last year), and was met with little care, and was told the room had been cleaned - this I believe to be true. The guest made comment about a faulty shower bracket and the bottom of the shower curtain being mouldy. (Allegedly).
It is a shame that this old and once beautiful building is fading into obscurity.
