it's a gem. great location
would stay again
nothing
but unfortunately experienced lack of room heating overnight but evening staff were great. on check out when asked if I enjoyed my stay I said yes but highlighted the lack of heating to which I was subjected to an irate tirade regarding this and no expression of regret of my room problems experienced. in reply I said my room was excellent and well equipped.

Beautiful location and a gorgeous old building with lots of character. The room decor was cosy and quirky with an extremely comfortable bed and great shower. Everything was spotlessly clean and there are thoughtful little touches such as both softer and firmer pillows on the bed, good fans available in the room, still and sparkling water in the room. The staff are down to earth, friendly and attentive without being stifling - they make sure you have everything you need and create a warm atmosphere in the pub. There is both a gluten free restaurant and a more traditional pub menu available - I tried the pub menu which was good value for money and really delicious. I highly recommend the full veggie breakfast to set you up in the morning. The Old Mill is also close to a bus stop directly into town (which Google Maps won't tell you about for some reason) so is super convenient for getting into Salisbury.
This actually wasn't a problem for me but it's good to be aware that sound travels in old buildings so if you are very noise sensitive or a light sleeper it might be an idea to bring earplugs because of the pub downstairs - it wasn't rowdy or anything but the sound does travel.

Beautiful setting, Felt like you were in the countryside but short walk into town. Comfortable room, warm, big bed. Friendly staff and restaurant/pub onsite. Lovely water mill in restaurant.
That there were two menus (three if include pizza one) was not obvious at first.

Everything about this place is perfect. Beautiful location, wonderful and friendly staff, the room is designed perfectly and was spotless (we have high standards and it was spot on). Attention to detail from the staff is second to none. It really was dog friendly (they’re new best friends)… it just felt like a safe space, and a lovely little getaway. We will undoubtedly be back - what a beautiful little gem. Thank you!
Nothing - everything about it was perfect.

A historic property within a short walk to Salisbury across water meadows.Staff very friendly and helpful. Very dog friendly.
Food and drinks fairly expensive. Every item for breakfast incurred an additional charge but nevertheless was good quality

Friendly staff. Nice food in the pub (overpriced). It's a very pretty location.
Our room was exceptionally noisy. We could literally hear whole conversations word for word. The walls are like paper.
We were charged an additional fee of £15 for our dog which wasn't communicated before we arrived.
It's overpriced for what you get. The room is tired and there were cobwebs.

Excellent location, beautiful setting & property, very comfy bed
Remember its above a pub so will be noisy until it closes! You can hear people very clearly through the floor / walls but we knew it was a pub hence high rating and no problems was a lovely stay! :)

Location was excellent, a short walk to the city centre and beautiful spot.
Our room was very warm, but fans had been provided.

The location of the Old Mill is superb within a gentle 15 minute stroll into Salisbury taking in the river and architecture on the way. The staff are polite, helpful and really funny, making us all laugh even though we were nursing hangovers at breakfast! The room was a good size and really nicely appointed with a large bathroom and really good shower. There was plenty of tea, coffee and milk available rather than the usual 2 teabags and a couple of milk sachets. We will definitely be coming back in the summer to enjoy the outdoor space the hotel/pub provides. Salisbury is really worth a visit as it is a beautiful city with so much to see and do and The Old Mill hotel is the perfect place to stay.
A mirror by a socket to dry your hair would be good.

Location very good - easy walk into city centre
Long wait to get checked in - bar staff all busy. No breakfast available on Christmas Day but we were phone two days before and informed
TV didn’t work but staff tried to fix it (failed) Early check in - 2:15pm - would cost £15 - we declined but no facility to leave cases anywhere until 3pm Nice location but rather overpriced as rooms clean but need upgrading - eg no double glazing - windows draughty

The location is spectacular,
Once the it had closed there was no light to the entrance of the hotel, so was difficult to find the door.

Perfect. Exactly what I want and love from old properties and traditional pubs. Eating in the bar in front of an open fire, stone floor, dogs, friendly staff, friendly locals, short walk from town

Old, clean, well situated within easy walking distance of the town.
The bedrooms were freezing because the central heating wasn’t working the first night of our stay.
Anton, one of the staff, worked tirelessly to get the heating fixed for the second night. He deserves the owners’s thanks.

Stunning architecture and beautiful setting. It was so interesting watching the River Avon flow under the hotel and out at the front of the hotel. Just a 15 minute amble to Salisbury City with views of the Cathedral from the hotel and on the walk into town. Lovely staff on reception, the bar and restaurant. Extensive choice at breakfast.
We had two rooms - a double for us and a large single for our adult son. Both rooms were very comfortable and well furnished.
We were on the second floor so the stairs were a challenge without a lift but that’s the charm of an old building. A price worth paying!

Fantastic location right in the river. Obviously a very old building which is well preserved.
Unfortunately there was scaffolding in place and this completely blocked our view from our room.
7.0 / 10.0
Friendly staff. Trying hard with room decor.
Our room was above the bar without any obvious sound insulation (guess due to the age of the building). Made it very noisy.
Lack of parking.

The location is fantastic, a short and pretty walk into Salisbury town centre. The building itself is a lovely old mill and the rooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable. Staff were helpful and efficient. Would definitely stay again.

Pretty setting, lovely view, tidy restaurant.
The loo in the bedroom had urine in it. The pillows smelled of someone else. The bar closed at 10:30 on a Saturday night, even for hotel guests.

We chose it for its location which was excellent
Meal selection was limited and breakfast wasn’t available till 9 am which was too late for us .

Very nice room and bathroom. Easy check in and Dyson fan was a nice touch given the temperature. Beautiful waterfront pub.

A relaxing 20 minute walk from the train station to the hotel. The hotel has comfortable beds, power points for charging devices, coffee pod machine, kettle to boil water for tea. Loved our stay.
The 3 flight of stairs to the room with my too heavy suitcase but the lovely staff helped me take it up!
8.0 / 10.0
The location was excellent, a beautiful walk into the centre but an equally lovely place to sit with a drink and either watch the children play in the water or in the back garden listening to the water. The room was comfortable and beautifully decorated and clean. Bed comfortable, water hot. I would imagine the room gets very warm if hot outside, as it has been converted into rooms we could hear conversations / noise from staff and guests from up and downstairs. Would struggle with rooms upstairs if had mobility issues. We had a breakfast which was really tasty and good local produce.
Location and some parking for guests

Fantastic location, stunning beer garden with lots of seating.
Very hot August evening but the hotel provided a Dyson fan in the room when we got there. Building and staff fabulous. Had a good selection of wine. Great pizza.
Car park was on the small side but at least you have free parking. Just to bear that in mind when booking but we didn’t have an issue getting a space.
