Great stay at the Savoy Palace Hotel

The hotel is beautiful, not modern but extremely good quality furnishings. Lovely decor especially in the seating areas. Room nice size & good quality bedding. Staff very friendly & helpful, efficient, nothing to much trouble. The breakfast has lots of choices. The bar & especially the terrace with view over the lake are just beautiful. Pool area very clean .

Classic and Stylish Hotel

Location was perfect with a few steps from local restaurants and bars, also ferry pier for a lake tour was very close. This is an old hotel but renovated some time ago and maintained well. The room was comfortable and clean. The pool was very good and the pool area was sufficient for the guests. The breakfast was very good. The staff was very professional. We didn't use the hotel restaurant because there were many very good restaurants in the area.

The bathroom appliances were classical type and the toilet flusher was a little problematic to use The TV was small for the room No coffee making facility in the room

The toaster in the breakfast dining room. Why hotels have a rotary toaster where the bread is required to be put through 4 times to change colour baffles me. All it creates is a group of disgruntled guests with hot buffet food going cold grouped around the toaster area, getting in each others way. Buy a different machine!

Gardone is such a pretty resort, and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, and the hotel's welcome.

The friendly reception we received was so lovely. When we arrived, we needed to change from a double bed to two single beds, and this was done without any problem. Breakfast was served with such lovely staff, and a smile. There was a good selection, and the coffee was delicious. The location of the hotel was excellent, on the waters front, between a small park, and all the restaurants. Air conditioning worked extremely well.

There wasn't anything we didn't like about the hotel.

Luxurious hotel by the Garda lake

The hotel is located in Gardone Riviera with a fabulous view of the Garda lake from most of the rooms. Some rooms have a small balcony, others a large patio. I would recommend spend the extra money to get a room with a view of the lake. Several restaurants and ice cream parlors within a few minutes along the boardwalk. A great pool with sun beds free of charge. Training room was small, but sufficiently equipped. The hotel is elegant and luxurious. Rooms were clean. Great breakfast. Parking in an underground garage. This is a place for relaxation, not too much to do other than to let the days pass by. This was perhaps the reason for the high average age of the guests during our stay. With a rental car, Venice, Verona and Milan is within reach for a day trip. Please be advised that there are two Hotel Savoy Palace near the Garda lake, the other one is in Riva. The road along the Garda lake to the north of the hotel is very narrow and there are lots of traffic - cars, bikes and motorcycles. In order to swim in the Garda lake you have to walk approx 5 minutes to a private beach and pay an entrance ticket. However, we found the pool at the hotel to be sufficient for our needs. Helpful personnel at the reception when we asked to change the number of beds in a room.

Internet connection dropped out quite a lot. The air-condition was not effective enough on the warmest days and nights. We travelled with three children and requested rooms close to another. We got rooms on 1.th and 5.th floor. This was not a problem for us as our children are old enough to live separated from us, but could be problematic for families traveling with younger children. We understand that this was due to different categories chosen for the rooms, but this could have been communicated earlier to us.

Absolutely wonderful time.

The Hotel Savoy Palace more than exceeded our expectations. Our room with a large terrace ovelooking the Lake was beautiful. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring other towns on the Lake. Above all, what we will remember about the hotel is the staff. The Reception staff (Ingrid, Sigrid and Giovanna) were always friendly and very helpful. Each morning we were greeted for breakfast by Bruno, the Restaurant Manager. Bruno is such an asset to the hotel. He enriched our breakfast experience by the lovely pool every morning. His attention to detail and supervision of his staff is amazing. He was assisted by two great waiters, Pasquale and Alfredo. They too were always smiling and helpful each morning. Now we are home we miss them :) You definitely must stay at The Hotel Savoy Palace! A big thanks again.

the entire property is very dated incl lifts, fitness facilities etc. They forgot to clean our room, which however they did after we pointed it out and went for dinner. When we came back room was cleaned but door stood open / unlocked.. Very poor breakfast selection

Our car broke down and we had to stay longer than we paid for, as car repairs have not been completed , but the receptionist at the hotel extended our stay ( without charge ), until car repairs were finished, with smile and without any fuss. Great service !

Bathrooms somewhat outdated, showers can use a good upgrade. They are however clean but de showerhead can do with a fix so you don’t need to hold it up…
