special place with the most beautiful blue lake

This stay was a very special place as it overlooked the most beautiful blue lake. Our room was on the upper floor, very private with our own bathroom, which was a must for us. Our room was very warm and cozy and the views overlooked the lake which were amazing.The house had great character authentic in everyway and a pleasure to stay in. The owner was very pleasant and accommodating and very happy to please. Our breakfast was fresh yogart amd fruit with several different types of granola, bread, tea/coffee and an option of eggs. The dining area had the wooden beams and the windows looked out to the lake. We would highly recommend this place and tell you it's a must if you are in the area. Also hiked up to a waterfall nearby and drove along the mountains in the surrounding area... What a treat, we would unquestionably recommend this place!

Surprisingly diverse and very approachable - a very relaxing two nights on our 15 day driving tour.

The location was terrific; I loved how it's right on the lake so that you can swim anytime, all the time. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was simple but fresh.

I had a fair amount of luggage, so it would have been nice if someone had helped me bring it up to my room.

Interesting, delicious, beautiful views around, stylish rooms.

We stayed for one night, and we really liked it. The house has history and you can see it. It is in a picturesque place, and you can hear birds singing. Loved the restaurant, delicious dishes

The House by the turquoise lake

I had a lovely room in this beautiful old house which has its charm. My room had a beautiful view of the turquoise-colored lake. Great location! The house is very close to the bus stop, and you can go for a long stroll near the lake and hills. The staff were wonderful!

The only downside for me was that when I arrived for dinner, I found out that all the tables were booked. Anyway, I took 5-7 min walk by the lake and had my dinner at some place there. Therefore, I recommend making a reservation ahead of time if you intend to dine at Flyhof.

Perfect way to end a day of hiking in the Swiss Mountains

A beautiful renovated old house that has so much charm. Location perfect right along the lake and hiking trails. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Supper and breakfast served was excellent. Highly recommended.

loved the beautiful rusty hotel right at gorgeous walensee

I loved the rusty atmosphere, I felt at home there. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. we stayed for diner and the schnitzel was delicious.

We are traveling across Switzerland by bike and Flyhif was a wonderful, refreshing and peaceful stop!

Breathtaking view of the lake with direct access to take a dip. The hotel is in an antique very well kept building that gives the place a lot of cachet and charm. Don’t be put off by the shared toilets, they are super clean, not busy and quite cute!! The hotel is extremely clean. The food is delicious. The staff is welcoming.

Excellent location, nice authentic atmosphere, great breakfast, very warm welcome. Tea , herbal infusion and water on free access. Amaising scenery view, and lake shore really close and easy to reach. I guess easy to swim on summer.

In out room there was no door between bathroom and main space. But we judged the view worthed this inconvenience.

Beautiful spot for the night

We rented the room with the private bathroom. It was very basic, large and spacious. The bed was comfortable for two people with nice pillows! The windows opened and it was nice to get fresh air. Very beautiful views of the mountains and lake. Easy access to the lake with a short walk. Easy / free parking near the hotel. Staff was friendly and wonderful!

The stairs for the hotel interior were built next to the wall of our hotel room, so as soon as someone would walk up or down we could hear the loud footsteps and wood creaking. Bring earplugs so you can sleep! The food was delicious but very expensive.

good for hollidays or weekend

Location is fantastic- private shore, great view of the mountains, close to the trekking paths, very quiet street, breathtaking views around, very comfortable bed. Very nice family, who runs the place. Great food in the restaurant- I was sorry they are not open every day, since I was not able to try out everything that they have on the menu. Nice wines- both local and from abroad.

I was little sceptic about the common toilet, but the place is kept very clean by the personel.

I loved it! The Walensee is just so incredibly beautiful and Flyhof is perfect for exploring it!

The location is exceptional: A perfect base for starting easy, moderate to challenging hikes, swimming (the hotel has its own access to the lake!!!) or just for relaxing. Check-In times of the hotel allowed for a really long stay at the property with only two nights booked. Rooms were clean and comfy. For me, it was a plus that breakfast was not included, since I prefer bringing my own food (i.a. due to allergies).

The fact (beknown to me in advance, so this is no critique) that my room had no toilet is ok - yet the fact that the toilet is one floor apart from the room was a bit cumbersome, particularly at night. However, although faint memories of adventurous hostel stays and camping endeavors are raised - the very cleanly and cosy toilet at this property really leaves good memories of its own. ;-) The noise of other guests using the somewhat creaky stairs is clearly audible in the room; so if, like me, you like to go to bed early, you may want to bring earplugs. However, these points raised are very minor ones and would not at all keep me at all from staying at Flyhof again!

nice atmosphere in historic rooms, comfortable beds and friendly staff

no toilet in the rooms, only shared ones in hallway (very clean so no complaint, still something to consider)
