Booked a twin room with sea view. On arrival was told that no such room exists. Either hotel or booking.com made error. No assistance from reception. Very poor experience

The breakfast provided had very good and varied choice, with fresh products.
The en suite shower was a good size and had plentiful hot water, with supplied shower gel etc which was appreciated. Location was perfect, a good stroll into St Malo for restaurants, sightseeing etc without having to deal with parking near the town. The beach is just across the road so very accessible. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Room 404 - We had a problem with the heating in the room and our room was very cold for 2 days as the heating kept turning off - there were no instructions provided for the controller but I found some on the internet. I discovered the controller was faulty. I reported the problem to the staff, a standalone radiator was provided which was appreciated. Unfortunately this meant that the space available around the bed, already insufficient, was further reduced.
The television channels were not satisfactory - presumably the english channels were being 'streamed' but because the connection was insufficient the program was interrupted every couple of minutes (sometimes more often) as the stream was refreshed. This is not something that should be tolerated.
The room itself was too small for the size of the bed - which was *very* wide. The bed was comfortable but a double room where there is insufficient space for 2 people to pass each other is too small.
It was good to have parking on site - however I feel that being charged 20 euros each day in the low season was too expensive. The rate should reflect the low season - as does the parking all around St Malo.

We arrived late. And the Night porter. Was just first class.

Clean room with en-suite and wi-fi. Also underground safe parking for motorcycle
The very large double bed was a bit too large for the room; I would have liked a little more room around the bed

Great Location, air conditioned and comfortable. Super friendly staff and easy check in.
Bathroom not as clean as it should have been, marks around the bottom of the shower. toilet skirting boards had not been cleaned and marks on the wall behind the toilet. Under the window needs painting.
Poor quality sheets were disappointing.
the guest in the room below us was unhappy as they had not had any sleep the night before due to the noise from the previous guest in our room. Explained it was our first night and not caused by us, but perhaps there is an issue with soundproofing which needs to be investigated.

The location was good however I felt the room was a bit small for a couple with 2 large suitcases. Overall apart from that the room was good.
The shower facilities felt very slippery and you felt like you would going to slip.

Wi fi not good. Had to log in again every time after going out. And slow.

To be honest, I find it hard to understand why this hotel has such a high rating.
I’ll try to describe our stay as objectively as possible.
Let’s start with the positives:
1. We really liked the location – right on the seafront and within walking distance to the old town.
2. The views of the ocean and sunsets in the evening were stunning.
3. You can park your car nearby for free – it was fairly easy to find a parking spot.
4. We were greeted by a very friendly guy at the reception – I believe his name was Alexander – who explained everything.
5. Pets are allowed, which is a plus.
Now to the downsides:
1. The hotel is quite old and worn-out, with cheap renovations and furniture in the rooms.
2. The mattresses and pillows were uncomfortable.
3. There was an unpleasant damp smell in the room.
4. We didn’t have hot water – I let the tap run for quite a while, but still ended up taking a rather cold shower in the morning. On the plus side, it was refreshing :)
5. The private parking lot is very small, fitting only 6–7 cars, so don’t count on leaving your car there. But as I mentioned, there are free street parking spots nearby.
6. The breakfast was incredibly bad. I thought food in France was delicious by default and that it’s hard to mess up good ingredients… But! The scrambled eggs seemed to be made from powdered egg mix and tasted like bland mush rather than real eggs. The pancakes were rubbery, and the fruit salad was floating in its own juice. To be fair – the coffee was good.
I genuinely do not recommend staying at this hotel. Check out other options nearby.

Great location, just across the beach and at walking distance to the old town. Friendly staff. Clean. Loved the breakfast.
We were a family of three and booked a triple room. Although we appreciated the efforts of making the most out of the limited space, the room was quite tight for 3 people and their bags. In addition, these triple room are at the last floor, and are split on 2 levels, with the double bed downstairs and 2 single beds upstairs, right beneath the roof. The air conditioning is placed above the double bed, and while you can adjust the room temperature at that level, you can’t improve the temperature in the space where the 2 single beds are placed, and it gets very hot in summer.
One other aspect to mention is the garage - we have booked a parking space. However, the garage is tight and narrow, as well. Parking and navigating in and out is a challenge in itself, especially as all/ most of the guests have big SUVs.
