Spectacular views from a hal-timbered hilltop inn

The view is amazing—truly panoramic. The location is lovely, overlooking the city and backing up to mountain pasture and walking trails. Room was spacious with amazing views from both bedroom and bathroom. And restaurant was fantastic.

Beautiful area with great walks

Beautiful area - lovely walk along the Ridge at sunset. Good Breakfast

Difficult to get to as it is up the top of the hill. There is a funicular nearby that would have been good to know about prior to arrival, as it made it easier to get up and down into the old town.

Excellent option for St Gallen

Great location above St Gallen, just a 10 minute walk from the old town. Excellent room with views over the town and comfy beds. The adjoining restaurant did excellent food also - be useful to have a multi-lingual menu!

Absolutely stunning location. Plentiful breakfast. Lovely room in the attic. Really comfy bed. One of my favourite hotels ever. Highly recommend.

Don’t go Monday or Tuesday

Lovely place out of town on hilltop. Timid drivers won’t enjoy the narrow hairpin turns at the end. My objection is that nothing on Booking.com advised that when I booked for a Tuesday that their restaurant is closed Monday and Tuesday. So I arrived found everything locked, code access to room, no staff, no answer to phone. I was stuck on top of the hill kilometres from town with no bar, no food, nothing! Crazy thing is room rate stays the same whether restaurant open or not. Great place but not on a Monday or Tuesday and not if you wish to be in town to stroll the village.

Wonderful boutique hotel. Super clean beautiful room with gorgeous view of St Gallen. Restaurant provided a fantastic meal. Hotel allowed for early check in and the breakfast was great.

An unusual place to stay for a night or two.

Good, but quite basic. All self service as there are no staff on duty and only four rooms. Breakfast is left out the night before in fridges. Spectacular view from the rooms and the restaurant. The building itself is magnificent.

Restaurant food poor. Service pleasant, but food is no better than cafeteria food. Too much use of deep fryer and ready made ingredients.

Living in a “gingerbread house” hotel was a perfect addition to the Christmas mood offered by the old town of St.Gallen

The hotel building is impressive, both outside and inside. Very quiet location on top of the hill by the side of a town with a magic view over the town.

To get to the hotel you need to climb the longest staircase in St.Gallen with its 529 stairs. For me it was a positive thing to do a little workout before going to sleep, but it could be a problem for others, especially with luggage. Breakfast food variety could be better.

A self service hôtel !

Very nice big room with a lovely view very convenient to have a very good table nearby 🙏🏻

Nobody there ! It’s a self service hôtel and it wasn’t mentioned anywhere ! No reception to give you information ! Nobody if you need explanation for breakfast ! And not even an English (international) langage in the book room !!! I’m very Upset for that because even if it’s a pleasant hôtel I wouldn’t have chosen a self service hôtel !!! I feel abused by the hotel and BOOKING !!!!!!!!

Quiet hotel

Fantastic quiet location. Exceptionally clean. No staff on site when we were there, but the instructions for access worked very well.

The night we were there the restaurant was not open (closed Monday and Tuesday) which we did not notice when we booked. Sadly we saw no staff. However there are plenty of restaurants in St Gallen if you don't mind the short drive or a walk back up a very steep hill!
