Hotel Restaurant Falkenburg

Very nice rooms mixed with old charm and modern amenities. The room was large and comfortable. Thoughtful touches like slippers and bottled water, coffee and tea in the room were a huge plus. Breakfast was great.

Beautifully appointed restored bite size inn on top of the St. Gallen world! Away from it all in a peaceful perch with extensive views of city below and Lake Constance in the distance. Comfy beds with crisp linens and “natural ac “ ( open window breezes). Self serve modified, but completely adequate, breakfast in the tiny dining room or taken out to the terrace. Fresh bread delivered by 6 am… lovely staff! Loved it. Our family (5) took 3 of 4 rooms ! Everyone loved it! Restaurant food was excellent. Kareem was so lovely and helpful. Glad I found this gem! Would return if in this area again .

I hadn't anticipated the extent to which the town is on a number of levels. The hotel is quite elevated and the view is excellent, but I was glad I took a taxi to arrive. In fact, it doesn't take as long to access the town as I thought it would, despite the fact that the funicular railway was closed the day I was there. The accommodation is very comfortable and spacious, and I was pleased that someone was there when I arrived. The restaurant was excellent, and is clearly very popular.

I think too much reliance is put on the expectation that you will self check in with an access code. Because someone was there when I arrived, this wasn't necessary, but there is a lot that could go wrong - if you can't access the message with the access code, for instance.

Lovely place out of town on hilltop. Timid drivers won’t enjoy the narrow hairpin turns at the end. My objection is that nothing on Booking.com advised that when I booked for a Tuesday that their restaurant is closed Monday and Tuesday. So I arrived found everything locked, code access to room, no staff, no answer to phone. I was stuck on top of the hill kilometres from town with no bar, no food, nothing! Crazy thing is room rate stays the same whether restaurant open or not. Great place but not on a Monday or Tuesday and not if you wish to be in town to stroll the village.
