A lovely place to stay in Athlone

It's such a lovely house, our room was very comfortable - but most of all we want to thank the friendly hosts for all the great tips they gave us! We told them which areas we'd be visiting and we were given lots of great locations to check out. Definitely would stay here again!

Comfortable stay in Athlone

Beautiful house with period features. Lovely garden view to the back of the house from the “Willow” bedroom and charming hosts: they noticed my daughter’s “rocker” style and gave her a leather studded wristband from when their own daughter was younger. Quiet area and convenient location to explore the town. Everything was super clean. European breakfast was included in the price too.

Gorgeous b&b stay

Ideal for a stay in Athlone - the couple were lovely. This was our first ever experience of staying in a b&b and they have set the bar high. Thank you

Comfortable and welcoming, stylish decor

Between us we had 3 rooms and unsurprisingly given the age of the property, they were all very different sizes and layouts, but all decorated stylishly and in keeping with the era of the house. The bed was very comfortable (with lovely sheets and fab scent!), the bathroom was small but clean with lovely tiling and the shower was a good size, easy to use and a good power!! The owners were welcoming and chatty and keen to be helpful.

Breakfast was a little disappointing being continental with nothing homemade. Nicer jams and some homemade or fresh cakes or pastries would be nice.

The location was ideal. Very accessible to downtown but quiet with a country feeling. The owners were delightful, so friendly and full of good recommendations for both the local scene as well as our extended journey.

Lovely House where history meets modern times

Very lovely hosts Neil and Avril and their dog cute and friendly!The room was fabolous, i really liked the fire place and generally the furniture style. We felt like Royals in a manor. Breakfast was amazing, homemade scones and soda bread. Thank you for your hospitality

We had a nice one night stop in Athlone and the Riverdale B & B was a perfect place.

Quiet yet very close to town (about 8 minutes walking to Sean's Bar); the host was so kind and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was simple and good.

Unfriendly greeting. Unavailable staff. No top sheet on the beds, and no way to ask the staff about it. Hard beds and pillows. Tiny rooms. I do not recommend staying here

A gorgeous place with great hospitality.

The room was beautiful and comfortable, with a lovely view from the window. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. They served a wonderful continental breakfast and gave us good tips and pointers about the rest of our trip.

Avril and Neil are a lovely couple, they were kind enough to wait for us to arrive as we got lost and was late for checking in, big thanks for that. B&b is a short walk into Athlone centre for pubs shops etc, lovely room comfy bed, slept like a log, would definitely stay again.

The Full Irish was delicious and I had a little bonus of pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. we were very impressed with the chia seeds and mixed seeds that you could add to your cereal.

Perfect stay at the Riverdale!

My partner and I booked a night in the Riverdale over the weekend and it was perfect for what we needed as we were doing a quick tour around Athlone before we moved onto Roscommon. The hosts were absolutely lovely, the room was spotless and had everything we needed and the location was perfect. We'll definitely book again when we come back.

Excellent, the owners are lovely and it is really clean. The breakfast was really good.

Very friendly and clean and the breakfast choices was great and really tasty, the location is close to town when you find the route.

It was a bit tricky to find but there was road works going on which didn’t help.
