Nice but not for me

Location

I said it was My daughters birthday and could we get early check-in I was told they would do there very best. Then when we arrived we were told no check in is 3 at the earlier and we had to wonder around the town for 3 hours in the lashing rain. I always stay in the athlone springs Hotel for my daughters birthday every year, they always give early check in and a birthday treat to my daughter in the room, i decided to try radison blue this year, I don't think I'll be back again.

Lovely hotel in an excellent location!

Really nice hotel and excellent value for money. At least on the night I stayed. All boxes ticked. Room was spacious and spotlessly clean, staff very friendly, strong wifi, great location, bed was really comfortable.

Our room was an accessible room which wasn’t asked for. Shower needs to be upgraded water everywhere. Weren’t told at check in that it was that room would have preferred standard room

All in all very happy with stay apart from the heating and the grubbyness of the lounge.

Breakfast was very good, but only one coffee machine working at time of our stay so there was a bit of a wait.

Heat in room not turned on until 6pm operated from a central system so room was very cold.

Window handle was broke carpet abit stained top Of the kettle was melted plus leaking no fan we were told it comes with a fan but no fan bin bags u could hardly get anything in it it was that small Not suitable for a bin and I have a room Booked for 4 nights with u next December I’m thinking of cancelling

Its a nice hotel with very pleasant staff on reception

The staff were extremely pleasant and very apologetic about our check in being 90 mins delayed .

Our room was not ready on arrival. We had to wait 90mins after official check in time The suite was extremely sparse bare and lacking in decor. It was cold. It just did not feel as if we were in an expensive suite.

Our stay was very enjoyable!

The young lady at check-in was very friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful, overlooking the river. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, with a large variety of well-prepared choices.

We had a small complaint about the bed, but the manager was very attentive and dealt with the situation in a very satisfactory manner.

The location is brilliant, right in the centre of town

Found the staff were quite young and needed more training When we checked into our room someone’s underwear was on the floor beside the radiator. Not what you want to find!!!! I had booked a table in advance for bar food as we were a larger party. They did not seem to have a table reserved for us. We were then placed in the outdoor area which was cold. I said this to the waitress who ignored my comment. The area itself was lovely but I think the heating should have been put on before placing guests there. A bit embarrassing for me as I had organised it

lovely hotel, great location

location was amazing, really handy for visiting the sites in the town, we also had a snack in the restaurant and the food was lovely

the service in the bar was poor, it wasn't a bust night but we had just about eaten our meal by the time the drinks arrived, this was blamed on a busy night but i was in direct line of sight of the bar and it wasn't that busy. my second drink wasn't ordered for my by the waiter, so i had to go to the bar a get it myself - all first world problems, but none the less, disappointing.

Relaxation and best location

This was my third stay in the Radisson Athlone and I was delighted to return again. I was upgraded to a suite which was stunning and a lovely surprise upon arrival by the check in staff. Hotel is beautifully situated and maintained to a high standard. Pool, sauna and steam room were perfect. You can be sure I'll be returning again for my 4th stay!

Unfortunately the wait for food and drinks was excessive. We had eaten our food before we got our drinks despite asking the wait staff three times. I did mention this to the manager which he acknowledged and apologised for. Also the hot breakfast was poor. Despite the downfalls, I'd still return just without breakfast included.

Location is excellent, right in the middle of Athlone

Something is lacking in this hotel. On arrival, check in staff ignored me for 5 mins, phones ringing and she just kept looking at her PC. Eventually another staff member appeared and apologised for the delay. Breakfast was a disaster, check in lady took our room number and gave no further assistance on how breakfast was laid out or assigned a table. One young girl was trying to assist everyone on her own. Lack of Management is clearly visible, Management need to look at themselves before trying to solve thei hotel problems.

Location was great close to everything

The staff some where exceptional and some where absolutely rude. Example was we asked our waiter emmet for an additional fork and knife and he basically tutted at us. The price for the night was not great 360 euros was a bit steep 2 adults one child
