Cleanliness, host, facilities, location.

Very comfortable bed - I had a very good night's sleep. Both pillows were also comfortable. Amazing location - not far from the Duomo and the centre of town, around a 5 minute walk. Very attentive host who was very responsive and friendly via Whatsapp. I liked the desk and chair as well as having a wardrobe. Great clean towels and bedding. The bedroom area was very clean. The bedroom area was pleasant. The bed was very nice. There seemed to be a communal area/lounge near the rooms as an added benefit, but I didn't use this.

The hallway and staircase leading to the room were pitch black... make sure you bring a torch or have one on your phone! The bathroom was terrible; it was extremely dated and had horrible cold lighting which made it look even worse. The whole bathroom area needs renovating. The shelf above the sink was so sloped that everything you put on it would immediately slide off and land on the floor or in the sink. This would not be good when putting glass aftershave bottles etc on here as they could fall off and smash! The hairdryer in the bathroom was totally broken and was a fire risk (when turning on it glowed bright orange, smelt of burning and barely produced any air!). It also looked extremely old and cheap. This urgently needs replacing. The shower enclosure and tiles looked very old, tired and a little dirty. The rest of the room was very clean however. The toiletries were very cheap - show gel in a sachet is extremely fiddly and annoying. A small bottle of shower gel would have been much better. As far as I remember there were no shampoos/conditioners on offer either. The soap for the sink was just cheap bar soap and no nice hand soap. All very functional, but extremely basic at best. There were some yellow stains on the wall in the corner. There was a fair amount of noise from the street outside but my earplugs helped cut this out. I did not know how to operate the air conditioning so it was quite hot as this was turned off when I arrived. The bedside lights were a horrid bright white clinical light that were very harsh on the eyes. This was no good for reading in bed so I had to turn these off and use the main big room light instead which was a shame. Softer bedside lighting would be a big improvement. I assumed this was a hotel but upon arriving it turned out it was more of an air bnb style property with a lock code for each door. It kind of felt like a private hostel dormitory opposed to a hotel.

The rooms are in an amazing location, the bed is nice and comfy.

The provided showering gel is in tiny little packets, which makes it very awkward to use, as there is also no place to put it in the shower other than the floor, I suggest to travelers to bring their own. Also the door to the bathroom closes very badly. Additionally the room is not sound proof at all - we got woken up multiple times at night from people coming into the other rooms, even though I don't think they were being very noisy. Bring some earplugs.
