Antica Dimora De' Benci

Good central location near Santa Croce piazza. Spacious room, good breakfast.

Didn’t realize front desk isn’t staffed - more like an Airbnb. Poor instructions on how to get into building and then to get key to room. Much guessing and wasted time. Entry to building and landing outside the suite are dark - only in our last day did we find the light switches - unmarked. Without that seemed unsafe and difficult to use key. Cannot adjust temperature- air conditioning worked but not adjustable. Hot at night. Ceiling Fan and one light didn’t work - after we called mgt. next day fixed. Room is dark even with all lights on. Bed was terrible - uncomfortable.

Such a lovely property, in a wonderful location. The room was stylish and very comfortable. Very good breakfast as well, in as n impressive dining room.

Amazing location, and a beautiful bedroom (and stunning breakfast room) just across the square from Basilica de Santa Croce, a short walk to the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffuzi Galleries and surrounded by restaurants, cafes and bars.

It’s very well situated just off Santa Croce but is very quiet and feels secluded.

We had arranged early check in and were given detailed instructions about how to gain access to the property but when we arrived at the agreed time the doors were locked and no one was there. The reception and emergency phone numbers given were not picking up. We had to take our bags back down into the city for an hour before we were contacted by WhatsApp. This is the second time we’d stayed and things didn’t go quite so well this time. The room and bed sheets smelled very strongly of a fabric deodoriser, rather than freshly laundered. Otherwise it was a nice traditional small hotel with everything you could need.
