The location was ideal for where we we’re visiting

This hotel was better than we expected. The lady who was working that weekend was excellent, sorry I can’t remember her name. Nothing was a problem and she was very welcoming and happy to help us navigate our way around the town. We were heading to Beamish Village and this hotel is in an excellent location for public transport to get there and back saved anyone driving.

Breakfast was a bit of a let down as they are not open Monday & Tuesday.

Finding parking places as there is a gym also and they take up the places.

The hotel is in a good position for us when visiting relatives in the area. The room & bathroom were a good size & very clean, both supplied with plenty of extras, tea, coffee, etc in the former & toiletries in the latter, although something in the shower to hold soap etc would be handy. It was very quiet.

We received an email the day before arrival saying we needed to book in online, with photo ID & passport nos. I ignored this & discovered it related to people from overseas. this could have easily confused & upset some people. The lack of anyone at Reception was a bit disconcerting, although a pleasant lad popped his head out of an office to make sure we knew how to get our room key, we never saw another member of staff. Our main complaint was the bed, we booked a double, it certainly wasn't. I'm a size 8-10 my Husband of average build & we had virtually no sleep being afraid to try & move. While we found in in the main it was good value for money the bed situation would make us seriously consider staying again.
