Big bedroom and en-suite. Comfortable bed. Private. Set in lovely grounds. An arresting decor.

Good old fashioned big bedroom. Easy parking and checkout. Good recommendations from David for a lovely Italian restaurant that was almost next door. Difficult to rate as we only stayed overnight.

Spacious well appointed room
We were walking Hadrian’s Wall and our stay at Hedgefield House was a special treat, unfortunately it proved below expectations. On arrival, we weren’t made to feel particularly welcome, with the greeting simply being, “Do you have a reservation?” It wasn’t the warm reception we had hoped for.
The room itself was hot and stuffy, and despite leaving the windows open, it was difficult to cool down. Unfortunately, the room was directly overlooked by the car parking, so we had to trade between some fresh air or any real privacy, as the curtains and blinds had to remain open. Overall, our experience was disappointing.
