Location, location, location. So near everything-comfortable and convenient to walk or take a taxi or train. The staff was incredibly helpful and sweet. We had 2 apartments for 8 people. The kids were so comfortable having this kind of space to spread out in. Very easy to enjoy Kyoto’s relaxed vibe.laundry facilities were so helpful.
One of properties didn’t have a sink upstairs and the other one did. It would have been more convenient with so many people to have the extra sink

We loved the traditional yet modern feel of the machiya where our entire family could be together. It was also really close to Nishiki market and lots of shopping but far enough away that it was quiet. The host was incredible. We felt very welcome and enjoyed the tea ceremony he provided. We also appreciated the laundry onsite. Would definitely stay again if we come back to Kyoto. Highly recommend.

I loved the setting, the amenities, the kindness of the host, the food and services, the tea ceremony, and more
If there was one thing to improve, it would be the outdoor bath cleanliness. Unfortunately before I even entered, there were some stray hairs from the previous guests. Its not the end of the world, just a thought!
