Charming, eccentric hotel but homely experience - much more interesting than standard hotel

Delightful, charming period property with very friendly staff - like visiting a friend's home more than a boring hotel. Very quiet, close enough to centre to walk to restaurants, easy free parking. Highly recommended for the traveller looking for something out of the ordinary.

A very memorable one night stay at a unique hotel in the heart of the old city of Bourges hosted by a super friendly own

Anthony’s home is beautiful. The rooms in the hotel part of this lovely, historic building are super comfortable and clean. Anthony updated us to the 3rd floor suite/apt which was renovated extensively but original details like the arched ceiling and cross timbers were kept. Fabulous!

Beautiful old house and a very warm welcome from Anthony. Pleasant bedroom with a large comfortable bed and a good bathroom with shower and bath up a little staircase (within the room). Very good breakfast and Anthony had kindly supplied gluten free bread for me. The house is very close to the centre of Bourges (5 minute walk to many restaurants).

Parking in the street. We found somewhere quite close to park but felt we were lucky. Bourges was particularly busy because of an event.

Warm service in a great location.

Le Cedre Bleu is not a stereotypical hotel. It is a bit quirky, but the welcome was genuinely warm, and the staff member on duty was genuinely helpful and flexible; it was far more than just good professional customer service. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and a good size. The location is excellent between the marais and the oldest part of Bourges, an easy walk to attractions and restaurants.

A minor issue was the hand held shower, but I was able to wedge it in position so I got a decent shower. It was in a proper shower recess, not over a bath. So not a big deal.

Anthony was so hospitable - the best host you could ask for. Very attentive and kind. He was so understanding when we arrived late due to delays on the road. The room was really lovely - comfortable bed and quiet. Great breakfast!

Convivial, interesting establishment

Anthony was friendly, kind, obliging and very helpful. He gave me lots of information and advice about Bourges. The atmosphere at the hotel was very convivial and relaxed. I am very grateful to him for making my stay a pleasant experience. The house is interesting, old and of great character on a quiet but easy walk from the centre.

Not much really. I suppose I had assumed the room was ensuite ehich turned out not yo be the case. However I had exclusive use of a w.c. and batgroom as all the other rooms appeared to be ensuite.

Whimsical, welcoming home

What a whimsical house, filled with fun, bright, eye-catching paintings and sculptures created by the host’s mother. Anthony was helpful, friendly, and made sure we were made to feel welcome in this house built in 1780. The house was clean, the breakfast delicious, and there is an exterior enclosed courtyard filled with quirky, creature art pieces where you can eat your breakfast or just hang out and refresh after a busy day exploring Bourges. Recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and it was made all the more comfortable by Anthony’s kindness.

The proprietor (Anthony?) was extremely welcoming and gracious. Although he had previously agreed to store our luggage when we arrived in the morning by train, he actually went out of his way to have our room prepared early so that we could get a head start on our visit of Bourges (including suggestions for places to visit that we had not previously contemplated). He also very graciously agreed to give us a ride to the train station upon our departure.

The only slight issue is that he requested that we remove our shoes upon entry, but we completely understand his reasoning—plus he provided comfortable, clean slippers to wear inside—so it was not a problem.
