We had never visited Bourges before but it’s almost exactly half way in our regular drive from London to Barcelona so we thought we’d try Hotel Panette as a stopover. It’s a delightful small friendly establishment in an historic building right in the centre of the old town. They were extremely helpful from the start and during our stay. Very cute room. Comfortable with all the amenities you need. Go for the breakfast hamper it’s excellent. We will definitely stay again.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Very, very old, like the entire city, and very close to the cathedral. Our room, although renovated, retained most most of its 16th century ambience. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom modern. We Will definitely book this hotel If and when we return to Bourges.

This hotel is an amazing value! Our room was gorgeous and distinctly French. We had an amazing view of Bourges, and the room blended right in with all the architecture outside. The location is extremely convenient as well. I would love to stay here again!!

Lovely old building with lots of character. Just stayed one night on our travels through France. We were on a motorbike (in January) so very pleased to find a warm and cosy apartment to stay in for the night in this interesting building (that was built around 1418 apparently!). Bourges was a lovely city with lots of nice restaurants and bars (but we just had a wander around and then ate in the apartment - which had everything we needed). Only criticism might be that €15 to park a motorcycle for the night seems a little expensive (but often normal in France).

We stayed in the Panette apartments and could not have been happier. The place was gorgeous, spotless, huge and comfortable. Didn’t hurt that they mysteriously upgraded us! Note you must checkin by 7pm...we respected this limitation and had a wonderful stay!

Uniquely furnished with antique furniture in a quirky style. Residents can purchase any of the fixtures and fittings in order to help raise funds for the ongoing restoration of this imprtant and historic building. Breakfast consisted of home-made jams and breads.

Why choose bland chains when you can be in a fascinating hotel with parking in the centre of the town. Kitchen, air-conditioning, comfortable bed, collect excellent breakfast. Those with ancient legs should inquire about the number of stairs. Really interesting hotel. Ideally placed.

Once you manage to get your car into the courtyard through the rather narrow car entrance, you find yourself in a rather magical place. It has charm in abundance and the staff is very helpful and friendly. It couldn't be better located, right in the center of Bourge.

This was a great find, and the staff was extremely hospitable. The only snag we encountered was a leaking toilet seal that left the bathroom with an unpleasant odor. The management indicated a plumber had been scheduled to make the repair. When we have the opportunity to further explore Bourges, we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Our electricity went out in the evening. We had no number to call for emergencies and the desk closed earlier that day. We went to bed without lights and unable to charge our phones. In the morning we let a staff member know and they reset the circuit. There needs to be a way to contact a staff member 24/7.

Second time we've stayed in this hotel which offers rooms in the main building, but also well equipped self-catered apartments which are very close to the main building. The hotel is located within only a few minutes of the cathedral of Bourges, and is therefore very central so had a great location.
